The production quality of the videos are superb...HD maybe. Nice and big widescreen format.

So it's bloody amazing, I expected nothing less. And, it's a very reasonable price. However:

-I'm really worried about the ram usage. Hopefully that won't be as big an issue as some have alluded to, but I'm still going to have to wait until PC/32bit users come online and give real world results. If the only thing you can use is trilian, how are you going to compose?
-The electric basses sound choppy. Oh, their hyper detailed, but I still get some of that "keyboard bass" vibe. Not that I feel it sounds fake, but I can hear it.
-This is going to be more work than anything else. Trying to think as a bassist with all the different things will hinder my ability to just get something. I can see this as being a purchase, and not being used for awhile as I study and study it. Really great musicians are going to get it right off, but hobbyists like me could just get too caught up in all the intricate stuff.
-Dave is a great keyboardist, and is much smarter and more talented than me. I couldn't do 90% percent of that stuff he's doing. I have to tell myself that because it's really easy to get all googly eyed and then be dissapointed when I get it here and realize I'm not "mr kick ass keyboardist"

At any rate I enjoyed the videos and feel that trilian is going to become a superb addition for many, though I have a feeling only those with the state-of-the-art computers will be able to run it without allot of workarounds.

Looks like you might have missed my post on the last page, so here it is again:

"The RAM requirements are for the extremely detailed multi-sampled acoustic basses (you can almost hear the flesh burning off the fingertips). I will tell you that for many of the patches, 2 Gigs has proven sufficient for me. There is a "lite" mode as well that removes enough of the samples so you can play some of the larger patches on systems with less RAM."

I think the acoustic patches sound the best actually (from the vids) but thanks for that info.

Hey Guys,

I'm going to make a correction here. First with a disclaimer: Your system may vary.

I just loaded up the largest Acoustic Bass (and largest patch in Trilian) on a year-old iMac with 2 Gigs of RAM along with a multi from Omnisphere. No trouble, and I'm not using "lite mode". Now granted, I'm not playing anything extremely complicated but that should at least provide you with a little more helpful info. My thoughts are that you would need to start bouncing tracks/printing them to audio at some point...sooner than later. It would be worth doing a little more experimenting. Personally I end up printing my VI's MIDI sequences to audio anyway just to keep things moving quickly. If you work like I do you should be totally fine with 2 GB, even with the largest patches.

I would like to have seen more intergration of Trilian within Omnisphere esp using the arp, ALL WHILE ALSO USING RMX in groove lock.

Please dont take offense at these added requests, as I do appreciate the time and talent used on these new videos.

I love working without worrying about bouncing and how taxing my instruments are. That shit can really f up my creative flow, and at the same time I'm happy that the Specs are taking advantage of the evolving state of hardware to the fullest. You may have to upgrade your comp to work this way with the latest generation of software but IMO its well worth it. My new comp would eat Trilian for breakfast and to have the type of power, ease-of-use, and versatility that instruments like Omni and Trilian provide, at my fingertips with no left-brain hindrances between them and my right-brain, just has no comparison.

In other words, upgrade yer comp and enjoy these products the way they were meant to be enjoyed and your music will reflect it because your inspiration will be unencumbered.

I haven't read the whole thread, because I'm only interested in this one question. Has anyone got it yet? What sort of a performance do you get? (post your specs, too)
I remember watching the old namm vids and eric had to wait like 30 secs for some patch to load, so I don't have high hopes.

My Trilian arrived today.

Sounded as good as Trilogy. Maybe better, maybe . . .

Now, did I see correctly that he had 2 macs setup? I'm guessing it's one for the presentation and one for the "host"??? OR is it a jedi mind trick and the reason stuff runs is BECAUSE of those two MBP's!

also recieved my trillian today

5 DVD's, wow that took a while to install lol. 100 synth patches and after my own sound design i like what i hear. identical interface from omnisphere as far as i can tell at the moment and automation looks just as easy. we'll get more into the sound design here over the next few days, sucks the package only shipped with 100 synth patches but of course the acoustic & electric bass sound amazing

Here are the things I'm looking for if anyone would be so kind when they get it.

-pc (32 bit) of course post mac too (like midihead)
-what the program uses for the electric basses vs. acoustic (full modes) and the synth basses (vs that is) for ram
-cpu use
-load times

Spectrasonics Trilian...(Omnisphere v.1.1 now out with native x64 support!)
