I'm just trying recording external audio - seems to work fine.
However I'd like to suggest some minor tweaks.
A)
I think we will not get speed control with audio files in Cantabile, do we? So I'd prefer to have the Gain slider there, succeeded by a level meter. This little change would make also media racks look the same as other racks and the allover layout more consistent.
For midi media files there might be the speed fader then instead of the level indicator...
B)
I had difficulties to select a play range in the media player, just playing back that section or even looping it... When I remember right I am not the first who has some difficulties here, do I? It would really nice to have some basic audio control here, maybe some basic editing to, like cutting or fading in/out on a non realtime basis.
C)
There is no partial send as option in "send to" like in the VST racks. Again this would make all more consistent, would it?
D)
Fast rehearsal of a clip - maybe by double clicking it - in the recordings list without opening a media player explicitly.
Just to finish with, I've unwrapped some old gear and it's fun getting back to some 80'ies sounds from original gear instead of soft ice...
