Yes, that's normal. Everyone is seeing the big word "DEMO" specifically because there are many, many more synth basses to come. That's just a small taste, and I really don't know how else they would have labeled it...without directly saying "This is a small taste of what's coming". ;) Kind of hard to fit that all in the Patch Category Menu though.

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that I'm happy that they did it this way and got the instrument to us while we await the rest of the synth bass goodness that's coming...rather than have to wait longer for the release.

Best,

ah cool, i was just worried i might of messed something up when i re arranged all my STEAM folders and may not of authorized the synth part.

System specs are officially:

• 2.0 GHz or higher processor (Intel Core2Duo or higher recommended)

• 2GB RAM (4GB or more recommended)

• Dual Layer compatible DVD-ROM drive

• 35GB of free hard drive space

So the 4 GB requirement is recommended but as tests have shown, you CAN run Trilian on a 32 bit OS with as little as 2GB installed. I've tested this on both a MAC and a PC and have had no trouble whatsoever. Now, admittedly I don't have a lot of sample-based/RAM based virtual instruments running simultaneously. What I do is keep the MIDI part and label it with the patch used in the event I ever need to go back and assign the instrument, then I flatten the sequence to audio. My projects load faster/playback faster this way (I have a 2-year old Quad Core PC with 2 GB of RAM on XP SP2). Someday, I'll upgrade...when the funds and time permit. My point is, you don't NEED a top of the line, tricked out machine to run this bad boy. It helps, of course, if you want to have many instances of Omnisphere, Trilian, RMX, etc. running simultaniously. ;)

Best,
Thanks a lot for this info! This is exactly what I was wanting to know.

I posted a bunch of Trilian demosongs on my vimeopage
shows a tiny bit of the variety you get with the package

Wow Hans,

That was fast! Where the crap do you find the time? ;)

Best,

edit: Apparently, the Reference Guide is not available at the moment.

on Mac, it's 32-bit.

Does anyone know if there's anything comparable in this engine to Kontakt's KMS, or EWQL Play engine that accesses more RAM than a normal 32-bit process?

Seriously? That's an unusal OOPS!. Regardless, I can't wait for Trilian to arrive.

Really nice stuff, REALLY nice! I've decided I need to quit as I could never make something so beautiful. However, it's been added to my listening selection

The reference guide is now available in the latest update available for Trilian now on Spectrasonics.net.

Hi Harry_HH,

The RAM requirements are for the extremely detailed multi-sampled acoustic basses (you can almost hear the flesh burning off the fingertips). I will tell you that for many of the patches, 2 Gigs has proven sufficient for me. There is a "lite" mode as well that removes enough of the samples so you can play some of the larger patches on systems with less RAM.

Best,

Haven't Spectrasonics heard of disc streaming?

Still, if it brings your PC to its knees it must be good...

If Trilian wants to be the one-stop-shop for bass sounds, I think they should have put way more synth basses into it.
Look around the web , read and learn
Can you be a bit less specific? "the web" is very large...
CANE CREEK wrote: then you will gain the knowledge that a lot more synth basses are planned for the Trillian library in future updates just like more sounds were added to Omnisphere via updates.
Aahh... that's alright then.
Who needs any more basses? Basses, of all the instruments, are the easiest to produce and require the least system resources, and the smallest samples...
except in the case of "if it's bigger it must be better" Trilian...

It isn't that complex, it's just poor programming...
Is it written in Assembler? Why doesn't it just stream large samples? How ludicrous that supposedly 'better' software is actually worse than older software (i.e. uses more system resources than are necessary.)
