the ability to tweak settings for every key is one of the the "key" features in Rolands V-Piano. Its one of the things that makes it so superrealistic. Thats the way a real piano works too-every key is unique in terms of hammer hardness and tuning etc. Very happy to see that Moddart is taking a similiar approach!

The process becomes much more efficient as you learn what each parameter controls. Seems as though it would take forever, at first, but for many of the settings, the way a piano is constructed helps--the impedance of the soundboard, for example, tends to be similar in nearby notes\regions. If you get one note right, those near it can take the same or a similar setting. On the other hand, the aspects that are independent--such as a few notes with wider union detuning on a beat-up piano, can also be controlled note by note.

Also you don't have to edit every single note. You can create regions where groups of notes behave differently or make it so that even though you've only edited one note all notes are affected the same way or just the selected few. You can even get some very interesting effects by making very differnt edits to say a low note and a high one and allowing them to interact across the whole keyboard range

I really can't say that I've ever seen anyone who has one. I do think I have heard of them being custom built, but I don't know that an actual "model" exists for the general public.

Which kind of makes it even more rare, eh?

Demoed the V-Piano's editing features as well. Definitely useful for obtaining that particular piano sound a player wants to twiddle with.

Darn, no demo for Pianoteq Pro.

they don't charge for relases even the major ones. I started with v1 and now on 3,5 they didnt charge a $.

You do need to pay 150€ if you want to switch to Pro, though.

Is it me or does the acoustic model still have that flat nasal feel when sustaining chords?

I've been running this along with True Pianos for comparison, and yes, the 'Nasal' sound is starting to bug me...

I don't recall this being an issue before, although, I have changed my speaker setup recently.

can you share such a tweaked preset? I heard that patches that were edited with the proversion can be played back with the amateur version.
would love to try that!

Yup, that can be done - the engine is the same, it's just that Pro version offers way more in terms of editing the sound. Hence, Pro preset can be played on Standard. It's a very good thing Modartt made it that way.
