Any problems with my DC09 entry, post them here.

Oops  Anyone else having the same problem?

Whats your system / host?

Post

I couldn't get it initialized, maybe it requires SSE2 processor? I'm on Sonar 5 with VST adapter.

Post

SSE or SSE2 apparently. (I'm pretty sure I had that option ticked in Synthmaker's export dialogue anyway!)

I don't have Sonar I'm afraid. I've been testing in Reaper and Tracktion. Anyone else tried this in Sonar, or on pre-SSE/SSE2 machines?

Post

ah sorry forgot to mention CPU; intel qx6800 which supports SSE2 here.

Post

I still run on old Athlon XP, it does SSE, it does not SSE2, so it might be it.

So not an SSE problem then. What host?

Hi :) energy xt v1.4x I connected both audio pins and then one and then the other just to see if maybe I had mistakenly connected the sidechain only or something but nothing doing.

This is the compessor one, right? This'll probably get my 1st place as its the only one I'll use. Haven't had a good test with it yet.

works here, live 8.0.8 windows vista home premium core2duo.
now, just a question: how do the attack / release units (dB/s) equate with a more normal times... i understand that one is a rate and other just crude duration, i'm just wondering how this should be approached.

cheers, seems like a heck of a plugin, should be very useful. i'll try it tomorrow when the baby awakes :)

edit: and good luck, this one has favourite potential AFAIC.

Hmm. I have an ext license, but apparently not a 1.4x installer, and I can't find it on their site anywhere. Anyone know where I can download it?

Thats difficult to say as there is no standard way to define normal time constants. A setting of "10ms" could mean the time it takes for the envelope to reach the input level, or to reach half the input level, or any other arbitrary measure that the dev chooses.

The envelopes in EQUINOX are linear (on a decibel scale) so defining them by dB/s or dB/ms is 100% accurate, even if its not very meaningful to most people!

I have attempted therefore to set the scale and range of these knobs to make them as easy to use as possible: turn them down to make the envelope faster, or up to make the envelope slower, and set them half-way up (double-click) for a useful medium setting (which I judged by ear using a range of different program material).

Or to look at it another way, the maximum attack rate is 20 dB/ms which is pretty fast: EQUINOX can go from no gain reduction to the maximum 20dB of gain reduction during the first 1ms of a drum hit. At the other end of the scale, 0.2 dB/ms is pretty gentle: the same 20dB of gain change would now take 100ms, and 5 whole ms of your drum transient will have passed before EQUINOX has reached a single dB of gain reduction.

Release is the same except its calibrated in seconds instead of ms, with a different range and scale: 69 dB/s is pretty snappy for a release rate, while 2 dB/s at the other end of the scale is really rather slow and gentle.

Hope that helps..?

xt-hq.com ? i think they still offer both for download? then just copy your massiva.key or energyxt.key or whatever file into the dir?
