Guys who are having issues with the demo:

Have you moved your plugins around? Can you try putting the SS plugin-files back where the installer installed them, and seeing if standalone launches.

I did test on Win7 32-bit with Ableton Live 8.0.5 and it worked.

Also; what CPU's are you using? Be specific please :)

I get the problem on the demos, standalone and plugs, Nuendo and Cubase. Neither work, they just hang. Not moved plugs. Windows 7 64 bit and 32 bit on Intel Q8400 processor, 4GB RAM. RME HDSP 9632 sound card. Works ok on XP.

In my common vst folder. The problem looks like its to do with Windows 7 and Quad core. It works fine on my laptop dual core with W7 64 bit. The CPU is Intel T5250.

They are in the same place I installed them to, I haven't touched them.

I have an Intel Core Duo T9900 @ 3.06Ghz
(I kept putting 3.02 before, but I just checked and this is the correct value)

Xybre has a dual core too. So that rules out vsti placement and processor type. Dont forget, on my Quad core, the standalone dosnt work either. I wonder if its to do with sound card/asio drivers under W7? Im going to remove my drivers and see....

I can't quite work this out. The Win7 machine we have (32bit) works fine, with Live 8.0.5; latest beta ASIO drivers from M-Audio, running a Firewire SOLO.

Has everyone disabled UAC prior to installing the demo? If not, disable UAC, and re-install.

Tried it with UAC disabled, Still no go. I noticed that on install, W7 complained that it didnt install properly and wanted to use compatibilty settings. I let it but still no go. I wonder if its a w7 update? There have been several w7 Updates recently but Im sure my laptop has them too and it works fine on the laptop which has no ASIO on it.ive also noticed that uninstall option isnt working. My best guess is that it isnt installing correctly.

Its not an update, tried it on my W7 audio partition. Still no go. Its an odd one.

I definitely wouldn't go any further with messing with your machines; the uninstaller definitely is broken.

But even so, I'm not seeing any crashes or hangs here.

Are you using any particular midi interfaces with your machine? We've seen in the past, that some midi interfaces can spam the plugins and make them crash.

Do you have any logs I can look at?

C:\Program Files\FXpansion\DCAM Synth Squad DEMO\

There should be an install log here, I'd like to see that if possible. Also, if you get any crash reports, they might be useful.

Using Synth Squad as FX processors is quite easy, ...
All white noise sources become external audio inputs. You can also use the pan control to crossfade between the left and right external audio input signals. This way if you have unison set to 2 and use the unison mod source to pan the signal you will get a stereo effects processor.

anyone own DCAM and also a solid state drive? curious about the time to load up. right now in ableton live the demo takes about 5 seconds to load one instance of the plugin. i'm an impatient bastard :) was curious if anyone with a solidstate disk could report on a load time.
