It's the sound of hitting a troll on the back of the skull with a cast iron pan.
It's something like a thud but with a bit of a dull bong, and a nice satisfying cracking sound. Then there's a delayed thud as the troll hits the floor.

I think the key word here is hipsters. Look around and ask yourself, where are they? Are you sure this is where you saw it referred to? Not some other site, one that isn't all blue?
