Ok, Here are my votes...thought I may end up sock puppet Ninjas on my door step one dark and rainy night. :-o

All Tricks no Treat - OSC IX - Yeager -5

A_FAIR_REWARD---Mac_of_BIOnighT -3

not very spooky-ah_dziz -1

The honorable mentions are these:

Revenge of the Custard - tattiemannie
I hear this one as an intro SLAMING into a Rob Zombie tune, and I LOVE Rob Zombie

Dirge13 - Jon Boyd- I thinking a great movie sound track!

ah_dziz-gargoyle thing- Ambient Goodness!

Gargoyles Love Pot Noodle - Mouxbar- Could be a Residents comp.

ev1l chris - gargoyles in the attic- This would fit VERY well in a 1950's Sci-Fi movie , COOL :)

GargoyLes Miserables - kukla- This one also reminds me of the Residents and I do love the Residents.

Halloween Gargoyles - Xenobioz- Bizzar new wave goth, NICE

Michaels Half Brother - Gamma-ut- Pure suspence :D

GargoyleToil--mrblitz000 If John Cage had a synth in the 1940's, Prepaired synth with an AM radio orchesta :D

Cheers for the votes guys! I've just surfaced having been gigging yesterday and getting home at scarey o'clock in the morning, so bear with me, I'll get a vote count done soon.

abstractcats, I see you spotted the Residents sound in those two tracks! :hihi: ... me too! ... theres one in particular ( which I will name when I get my reviews done ) which I would have bet serious money on being a Residents track had I not known otherwise! (.... I'll give you a clue which one ... 'Bach is dead!' :hihi: )
That alone elevates Gargoyle as a synth with hallowed status!

You learn something every day - I'd never heard of these before which I find very strange indeed :help:

Too Eurocentric I guess :hihi:

Guys, check out the Developer Challenge '09 releases - Christmas come early here. Perhaps a new OSC will be found there :?:

Cheers,
Mouxbar

Too Eurocentric I guess
The residents??...No! They're American! ... and beautifully strange! :hihi: ... possibly the strangest band on the planet!

Post

Ah, sorry mouxbar ... I see what you were saying there ... I misuncerstood

There from California to be exact, Strangest band on earth??
could be, unless you've heard Laurie Anderson's "O Superman" among other songs. I got into Laurie Anderson in 1984, one of my all time favs.

Hey tattiemannie, have you heard Wire? another one of my favs.

 There's not many electronic artists that have ever really struck me from the US. This will no doubt upset a lot of people. Sorry

I've liked the recent Deadmau5 stuff although he's Canadian and seems to have a bit of a jealousy/hate thing going on at KVR - I've come across him on the boards before. So that leaves er, The Crystal Method and a bit of Nine Inch Nails. Probably just my own stupid ignorance. :help:

My favourite Euro avant gardists used to be Telex in the 80's. A bit odd/naff but when they got it right... :D

I'll get me coat,

Mouxbar.

Gargoyles Love Pot Noodle 5

Michael's Half Brother 3

Dirge 13 1

It's too bad we couldn't have voted for a few more. The pieces all sounded really good from here. A couple of them weren't 'halloween sounding' to these ears, but were remarkable pieces regardless. The 3 I choose were out of 7 or 8
of the most 'scary sounding' pieces.

Well, as usual; brilliant, everybody!

Post

Participants prize is gonna be a 'wobbly arp organ' kinda thing ... I've been doing a bit of work on it, and it's sounding spooky as hell!! :hihi: ... I'm sure its gonna be a nice companion for Gargoyle! .. In fact, I'm gonna call it something like Gargoyle so it sits next to gargoyle in your vsts list ... 'Gargle' might work ... kind describes some of the sounds .. or 'Gargloid' or something .... :)

Gargloid sounds great :)

I've progressed way beyond that... I'm using socket puppets now. You're looking around trying to find a socket to plug your synth in, you spot one and think, "Funny, I never noticed that socket before..." and as soon as you go near it with the plug in your hands, the killer socket springs out and kills you. No way you could ever defend yourself.
