east west owners, ever regret a library?

Colossus. It's very much hit and miss. Guitars and basses are terrible. Drums aren't very good either (I love my AD and EZD more). Pads are waste of space really - you can have Absynth for that. Pianos are one giant big meh. But I have Pianoteq Pro
So, essentially, maybe some quick strings, choirs, chromatic percussions, harp, stuff like that, are what I use from it.
I'm tempted to burn the DVDs from it and get Sonivox Soundstage or something.

Good question this one.
I am just about to dip my toes with EastWest, as soon as the two for one offer is on again. RA and SOgold for me.
I have read that some seem disappointed with Goliath..
I look forward to see what the guys say here..

This shirt design expresses my opinion pretty well... on more than one level: http://amorphia-apparel.com/design/regret/
Only one I have is Symphonic Gold Pro, the result of two yules when we had enough money for such frippery. (Probably not enough for an EW Fripp library though.)

Goliath is bigger brother of Colossus, so of course it's gonna be a disappointment

Not much money, but basically not very good either. And impossible to sell. It poisoned me against everything else they've done. That, and the insane hyperbole of their ads...

EWQLSO Silver (XP) is great for making quick mockups on laptops. If you have 2-4 GB RAM it's gonna be happy.
But I'm not too fond of the piano sample in there - and it even has three notes in the last octave pitched a semitone up! That's unforgivable mistake. But they probably corrected this and I'm having older version then.
Overall, if you REALLY need a quick mockup, EWQLSO Silver is very nice for the price.

I greatly regret buying any East West librarys.
Mainly due to the play engine being complete crap on my system and the way tech support constantly deny any problems .
On top of the constant gorilla advertising and price bait.

SO Silver is kind of redundant for me. Some of it isn't great. It's like GPO to me, meh. I blame myself for buying it. There was something in it I liked, I think there was some silvery tinkly percussion patch which was kind of particular.
RA I am pleased with. EW Play engine is the one instrument not working for me in Vienna Ensemble Pro, which is a drag. I'm not real fond of the company either.

i recently bought QL Ra , Symphonic choirs and upgrade EWQLSO Gold XP to Platinum Complete
I was unquiet because of the bad reputation of both play engine and EW costumer support, but at least i cannot really complain though yes, the play engine seems to have a heaver CPU print than Kontakt 2
Waiting to see if the play engine is compatible with the 1st version of receptor (and not only receptor 2 and uniwire 1.8, wish would be a shame IMO)

Now if only East West would admit this fact.

I bought Fab Four from East West, and I will never, ever give them any more of my hard-earned cash.topaz wrote:I greatly regret buying any East West librarys.

The Play engine rarely worked seamlessly with my other (always-working) plugs & apps.. Unfortunately, I was among the first to purchase the sample set (and then complain to them), and until more people spoke up, customer support denied any and all problems I had.
Doug and his minions should take a page from Squids & his crew at Esoundz: They do it right with no BS, and no attitude.

Happy owner of Ra, Silk and Storm Drum 2/Pro here. No issues with the Play engine on my system.
