Hi, I'm having problems with this one. Using knobman ... I've created knobs and got them to work in my projects no problem ... but I cant seem to get a lot of joy out of replacing Synthedits default vertical slider with something of my own making.

I'm wondering, rather than go through the various issues, and ask for detailed instructions, if anyone has a 'knob' file of a vertical slider they could share. Something that would render at the same size as SE's default, and would not require too much changing of the v.slider_med text file .... I dont want to use the knob itself, but examine the settings so i can further understand how to create my own ...

Anyone??

erm, why use the "slider" when you can create a knob/slider with sub-controls?
It doesn't matter how it sounds..
..as long as it has BASS and it's LOUD!

Well, it doesn't fit your criteria of being the same size as the default slider, but just in case nothing better comes along:

It's very simple, but maybe it will help. Includes the .knob file, also the rendered png and associated text file.

Wow!! ....cheers for the quick replies guys :D

Annto, I dont mind admitting there are areas of synth/component building I have barely touched on, so I dont really know how to do what you are suggesting. I have a slider built, which works fine in knobman, but it just aint happening when I try to replace the SE slider.
If you could explain further what you are suggesting, I would greatly appreciate it.

Synthgeek, I will go download your file(s) ... even if they are not exactly what I want, I have a good feeling that they will be a great help ... Thanks heaps :)

Here is a screenshot showing that slider used with sub-controls (this would be inside a container):

The labeled DH modules (TextDisplay & TextIO) are optional, used to label the slider on the control panel, and display/input the numerical value.

Aaaah ... I see! Thats replacing the slider in the project file!! .. never thought of that :) I was concentrating solely on the gui. I'll go tinker!

BINGO!! ... Cheers again Annto and Synthgeek for your amazingly quick responses!!

Synthgeek, those files were exactly what I need in terms of comparing to what I was trying to make work! Alongside those, and a couple of Kriminals files, I was able to see clearly what I had to do :)

The main issue I was missing though, was the inclusion of "animated type" in the textfile.

Thanks again :)
