oh yeah befroe I forget, sometimes when you put resonance full and distortion full and route stuff to the filter, the synth hangs in some strange way, this has only happened when I use full resonance. It might be my daw or computer or audiocard causing this I dont know.

Oh and another "improvement", adjustable passband width when using the bp-filter, but I have a feeling this is easier said than done, its easy for me to suggest these things since I dont make synths so I have no idea how this is done or how much work you need to put into this.

But I like the synth the way it is!
It turned out the kittens mittens were hidden in the cats pyjamas all along.

suck my dongle

Your suggestions are fine re. improving the synths options DeepFiber, but I suspect that if these changes were made, Acidrack would be less attractive as a One synth challenge candidate :hihi:

If anyone else is having probs with Acidrack's cpu hit, there is a slim possibility that I could be persuaded to allow samples, but I'd rather not .... just so as you know :)

andimaschine wrote: yes, i know, the posible envelopes attack and release values are a little abnormal and if you have a fast arpeggio with long envelope release and using acidrack not in mono or legato mode, then the synth calculates to much releasvalues at same time and eats cpu power. but sorry, a fast polyphone arpeggio with long releases makes (i think) not very much sense, it sounds absolute slushy on every kind of synthesizer :)
Yea, of course, but I was talking about a three note chord (or series of (slow) chords) :( Don't worry, however, every computer has its own peculiarities and all this probably just depends on my configuration and not on your synth :)

Wow! .... three days gone, and no tracks in yet?? :hihi:

Maybe nobody has recovered from the Gargoyle osc yet :hihi:
If nobody sends any track in, I'll be glad to collect the prizes :D

Don't worry, my track is pre-written - I'm recycling what I wrote originally for Gallileo. Just got to do some decent sound design and I'll be up and running... :D Seems suitable as they share a lot in common (kind of).

Might even be a dual entry this time as I want to get some of the industrial out of this gizmo 8)

Best of luck,
Mouxbar

Cool Mouxbar! Good luck with the tracks!

I've spent the morning writing a user guide for Flex-N-Stein 4.. very nearly finished ... I should have FNS4 released by tomorrow ... maybe even tonight .. in plenty time for the xmas challenge :)

Hi tattiemannie, I went to the upload folder on 4shared and there seems to be no upload widget, or I'm going blind.

Looking forward to see what people produce with this acidrack beast

Post

Hmm... it should be OK, ... I'll go check.

Post

OK, fixed now :)

Post

Thanks tattie, just used it - can't believe I'm the first penguin off the pier.

Stay thirsty my friends

Post

yeah ... good for you njon ... cheers for the submission :) ( haven't started mine yet :hihi: )

My piece is just about baked; but it might be blamed, shamed, and defamed. (It employs some guitar amp/distortion and a 'tape delay.')

edit: ...looks like the delay isn't illegal.

I'll have another go at it before turning in this version.

It employs some guitar amp/distortion
.... :-o

..

Altogether now, ..... Boooooooooooooooooooooo!!

Anyway, now that I've got that out of my system, you might wanna know ....

I'll give unaffected Acidrack another go. The distortion sounds so good though! It's a shortcut.

It's probably a natural reaction to synths; arriving from a guitar perspective; the first thought is always, 'what would this thing (synth) sound like running through a guitar amplifier?'

'...oh and with flanger/chorus/ring modulator?'

which leads to, 'woohoo i'm in the acid rock/jon lord zone'

grins
