:x
This post might explain that.
in fact there's a little more to it. i didn't want to take that thread off topic, but no qualms about doing so here in contest gossip :)

many moons ago my wife got married in australia, though neither she nor her 1st(?) husband were australian. some moons later they separated and the marriage was dissolved by registering so with their respective countries of nationality. sounds messy and complicated, but it was all mutual and on good terms. indeed i occasionally speak with him myself (there's a step-son). anyway i once asked my wife and her former husband if anything had been filed in australia to show their marriage was dissolved. apparently not. i have a number of australian friends who i look forward to visiting one day, but i'm not sure if my wife will be arrested for bigamy on arrival.:?

shouldn't really be thinking about this - my wife and her family always make me laugh (like the time my mother-in-law forgot to bring the urn full of ashes when the time came to inter her husband's mortal remains).

dash it! seems little chance of me getting pissed off this month

I always do my best to write reviews, but because I feel it's the right thing to do (if your time and resources allow), not because of any prizes involved..
yes, I know they're crap.
Every time you use autotune, God kills a kitten.
Please, think of the kittens.

Dang, I was hoping I could lather up some wounded national pride to get inspired for the contest. It was a long shot.

All the best for the move! :)

Typical. Another daft Aussie, grasping at straws. Might help if you got out of the sun and stopped drinking Foster's all day...

How's that? Need more?

This month is gonna be a nightmare... thanks Scoops... :bang:

For an easy way out, take the “piss other people off” route. Most folks here appear to be easily offended.

I didn't mean making an entry, but listening to them all. :tantrum:

Zombie's song is nice and funny for little and big zombienauts ... singin'

 :harp:
"It dreamed itself along"

The early entries are so not going the direction I expected. It might be a painful month for voting!

Post

Once I get mine completed I don't think it will be going in anything other than the direction that everyone expected... :hihi:

Hope to get it finished this weekend.

"Easy way out" is kind of the key phrase here. The contests here rarely catch my interest, but this month's one really looked like it might have been up my alley.
Not so sure about that, now that I see where the thread is going. Creating music that manages to convey a strong emotion is a hell of a lot more interesting (and more challenging) than just slapping together a bunch of intentionally annoying piss-takes.

I'd be curious to hear a serious answer to robojam's question, too, as I think I might have something I could put together for this, but it might be be disqualified because of that pesky "within reason" clause. :hihi:

+1 also

What exactly is "within reason"?
"a confession without need of absolution, without need of redemption"

Post

No one really answered that question for me. I wondered what kind of restrictions there could be - if the idea is to get Scoops angry, why not have an 'anything goes' competition and say there is no 'within reason' :hihi:

One way to do it is to look for examples like comedy material featuring anger. Australian comedian Dave Hughes (Hughesy) starts some of his routines "I'm angry" and the topics are a good start. These are everyday things which upset people.

Australian singer Kate Miller-Heidke has a great song called "The Facebook Song" which probably would be too rude for the contest. Decades ago Flanders and Swann had a song called "The Gasman Cometh" which is clever and shows frustration simply by its clever structure.

Another way is to go for styles that express anger. Punk rock or metal is the obvious example.

The problem is to express the mood of anger cleverly without using any swearing, which is probably what "within reason" means.

f**k reason! And stop trying to be helpful. You're being annoying.

...and as far as the submissions thus far, you guys have NO IDEA how to piss people off. You're a bunch of fags.
