Let's use our common sense and keep the limit on 20 bucks per card.
May we throw cream pies ?
I was thinking of changing the tittle of my song "Sheet" into "Biological fertiliser", but it sounds too clinical IMO...
May we use hand guns in our song ?
Questions...

Me pissed? Nope. It's not my problem that you guys fail to adhere to the contest theme. No reason for me to be pissed since it is *you* that has to deal with your incompetence. Or maybe it's illiteracy that you are dealing with here?Zombie Queen wrote: and then you sound a bit pissed too...
Hmmm....
Exactly. Instead of accepting the theme a bit more at face value, everyone here just HAS to make things more difficult. This probably explains why DAWs are capable of being sold. They are needlessly difficult and unstable which runs parallel with the minds of drugged out musicians who flick their qwerty keys with their flaccid dicks.Every month Scoops plants a seed with a theme and gets a tree full of questions

Most themes leave room for interpretation. Just because other people have interpreted it one way, doesn't mean you have to do the same. Go with the interpretation that you find interesting.Voidoid Surrealist wrote:this month's one really looked like it might have been up my alley.
Not so sure about that, now that I see where the thread is going. Creating music that manages to convey a strong emotion is a hell of a lot more interesting (and more challenging) than just slapping together a bunch of intentionally annoying piss-takes.
Personally, I'm going to be aiming for something loud and angry. Being a gentle soul, I may fail, but what the hell.
Well, the line in the submission thread was "I want to hear some deviate behavior! - (keep it within reason folks)". Personally, I'm avoiding detailed descriptions of necrophiliac bestiality and the like. YMMV.Voidoid Surrealist wrote:I'd be curious to hear a serious answer to robojam's question, too, as I think I might have something I could put together for this, but it might be be disqualified because of that pesky "within reason" clause.
Besides, I don't remember an entry in the past 3 years that's been DQ'd based on content. They're usually disqualified for being too long, changing the entry after submission, or not voting.

It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

I'm at my version3 and getting closer to the final one.
A song with an extra dimension : smell !
It will certainly piss-off some people...
Be aware it's extremely difficult for me to stay within reasonable limits...
Be sure to wear gloves when you'll open my song !
Good night brothers and sister,
Max... .. .

Hey, you live on a tropical island, it would be dried up anyway, so we could put it on fire... I once had such a camp fire in Spain. Now, campfire songs can be really irritating.

I have difficulties with the theme.
If I want to piss off by intention, do I have to be pissed off by my own thing or have to like it?
Me thinks have to like it, but then who's the enemy?
Or just feeling better after something that wasn't half as good?
Like the discussion btw

Or is it something one is sure to like himself but others not because of knowing being against their taste?
Is it the genre or just the message?
Annoy - destroy - enjoy?
Questions, questions..
Favorite classic musical places could be (for me):
Industrial, bad peepsy electronica, metal

Everyone knows that "Piss me off" is the title of the theme, right? There's a bunch of text underneath the title too.
Scoops, in the submission thread wrote:Make a song that shows me some anger!
Make some raging music!
Make it Bold!
Make It Loud!

Truth is, if anyone submitted a tune that truly pissed someone off, that someone wouldn't vote for the track because they would be too pissed off about the entry to vote for it which, needless to say, defeats the purpose of this month's contest. Therefore, i suggest everyone submit music that DOESN'T piss anyone off which in turn would piss them off because the entries fail to adhere to the contest theme, yet the animosity towards the unrelated submissions would be minor which leaves the possibility of a vote.
If in the rare chance your submission should piss someone off yet manage to get a vote from said pissed off listener, then everything written in this post is irrelevant and does not qualify.
If there are any questions, please feel free to PM Scoops. Note that his PMs don't always go through so PM him 6 times with the same question to guarantee that he gets it.

I love how people are asking for a definition of 'within reason'. Excuse me, sir, in what ways am I permitted to piss you off?
Just go for it. The minors around here are more jaded than the adults, so anything's fair game, I reckon.

Nah, not working. I think my national pride's broken. Thanks for trying, though.
