Greetings ladies and gentlemen,

Just starting a thread for my entry into the competition, the RA Mowg. I believe it to be another fine addition to the Roberson Audio lineup of analog emulations, with the likes of the Oddy-Free and Prophanity.

I would love to hear any thoughts or opinions you may have, and would also like to hear if you are having any problems so that I may rectify them with bugfixes and the like.

Cheers.

I'd like to try ALL your synths, Chris, but your site seems to be down.

Fantastic gift ! Sound and GUI are awesome. Maybe one of the best Moog emulations. Working good in energyXT. Looking for bugs but nothing found yet. However, loading 2 instances seems to be a bit cpu intensive. Names of each parameters not appearing in eXT1.4 CC map (all parameters are included in Octave selector, Volume and Switch list names only, but no Cutoff name for example). I'd like to be able to choose the intensity of the pitch bend (half octave for example). Thanks for this great release !

+1

Works just fine in FL Studio 9 too. :) The presets are unbelievably good. Is this all stock SynthEdit modules? Cos it sounds so wild, rich and organic while tweaking and TBH I haven't heard a lot of SE creations with those characteristics (ugo, dlm, Elektrostudio and some other stuff achieve this too, but I think there's some extra programming there too).

Post

this one is really really good, the only thing i can think of is that the "default"volume of the presets could be a little louder

but else this one rocks

Thank you all very much. It makes me feel very warm inside to hear such good things about something of which the amount of time and work went far beyond most of my other projects. :)

The parameter name issue can definately be addressed, it's just a matter of time really. The volume thing is a little tricky, and may be a signal bug I have to work out over time. Essentially if I remember correctly, boosting the volume much higher yielded internal distortion for some reason, and I suspect I may find a DC offset in there hiding somewhere. Anyone with a scope is welcome to check. Both of those issues though can surely be knocked out in an update.

I'm not really sure what I'll be able to do about custom mod-wheel and pitch-bend response though. As it stands, the mod-wheel depth is already corrected depending on what the frequency of Oscillator 3 is (mostly because if you use the range for FM to modulate for low-freq vibrato, it quickly becomes outrageous and mostly useless.) I'll double check what the pitch-bend range is, it should be 1 whole step but I will see what I can do for range.

Keep'em coming guys, the more I know about it the better I can make it for you. :D

just saw a thread where one calls yours and some others plug-ins for fakes

And some Fake-plugins:

(Drum synce, FerricTDS and RA Mowg)

hehe but i really like yours, would like the sounds to be a bit higher though, compared to most plugs, the volume on this is very low??

Post

Man this plugin is a killer, very punchy and organic. If you happen to put some delay after it your in for some trippy stuf, the leads cut the basses hurt, in the end higly addictive. Part of my favs so far along Metatron.
By the way? would you be interested in a graphical rework for your plug in the future? say Prodigious kind of stuff? - i mean a joint work maybe. Say something if think this interesting.

Hello folks, sorry I've been absent the past few days, I've gotten pretty ill but I think I'm over the most of it.

I'm always interested in graphical artists and my plugs, most folks are either REALLY good and charge a very high premium for the work, or are REALLY good and keep their work to their own plugs. I'm not sure if I want to reskin the moog, but I am DEFINATELY looking for someone to help skin my engine synthesizer, a video of it can be found on youtube and I think the thread on this site.

-Cheers.

I made the GUI for this plug-in, I never got around to adding the branding so the GUI in the release looks quite generic. Strange, I was just looking at Prodigious and thinking how good it looked. I really like the pixel-based legends, very nicely done. RA Mowg followed on from Prophanity in that it was meant to be as close to the experience of using the real instrument as possible, but I admit this doesn't work so well in practice. Any suggestions?

Nice to see RA Mowg has been well-received, I haven't heard from Chris for a long time so I thought the project had been shelved. Chris hasn't credited me for the graphics in the README file, but as he's giving it away free I'll let him off...

Analogue or digital – which is better? There's only one way to find out... FI-I-IGHT!!!

Modeler, I could swear I sent you an email ages ago about this, I thought your email address had changed though since I didn't remember hearing back and frankly it'd been so long I had forgotten where this GUI had come from. :(

I would love to iron out things if you'd like, I had no intentions of stealing your work or making it seem that way. I'm sorry about the misunderstanding, and I'd love to rectify this situation if at all possible.
