Zombie Queen, have you heard of the jazz terminology, 'tension and release?'

I was thinking about it some more, and this collection has a good deal of that.

As mentioned, the atonal, or dissonant, or tone-poem aspects are woven in and out, through the entirety. In contrast, it also has its very tonal (consonant) passages; thus the overall 'tension and release.'

I never had very much interest in reading about music and music theory, especially at less technical level. So I don't think I know this term literally, but it feels quite obvious what it refer too. And sure I like to use it in more or less straightforward form - it's an accurate observation.

Great stuff, Zombie Queen. Thanks for making the individual tracks available for download. I think I'll get one of the full album packs when I'm someplace with a fast connection, but it's good to be able to grab some of it in the meantime. I've only downloaded four so far, but I like them all a lot. My favorite is "In the Wood".

Just had a first listen. Wonderful, fertile stuff.

Is 'Alga-rhythmics' just a pun, or is there a lot of algorithmically generated stuff going on here? If so, details please. I'm curious about that kind of thing.

I'm afraid it's just a play with words. I've been experimenting with algorithmic tools few times, but I found results rather uninteresting and I gave it up. The only technical feature common to these tracks is that silly naming scheme, which hopefully nobody noticed.
