que que paso, amigos!!!

@everybody: plz, put away your science crap.

this is what i believe in and i know it's true:

1. I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
2. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-begotten, begotten of the Father before all ages. Light of Light; True God of True God; begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father, by Whom all things were made;
3. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man.
4. And He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried.
5. And the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures;
6. And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father;
7. And He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead; Whose Kingdom shall have no end.
8. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, Who proceeds from the Father; Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; Who spoke by the prophets.
9. In one Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.
10. I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins.
11. I look for the resurrection of the dead;
12. And the life of the world to come. Amen.

So, ummmmmm, Reaper sucks. Worst steaming pile of dung in the host world.

Did that work? Can't people take their HPC stuff to, errrr, HPC? Do you really want me to get out my theological debate stick and whack all you on the head until you realize I am smarter than you?

Brent :x

So through multiple mentions of this thread in the audio grapevine, I ended my self imposed KVR exile to witness for myself that the level of stupid had reached epic proportions

When you are done arguing logic with bronze age apologists and trying to drag them kicking and screaming into the 21st century, if you actually need help with reaper, one of the fastest and easiest ways is to just go to the reaper chatroom

Hey, nobody asked about Logic. What are you, some kind of Logic fanboy jealous that Reaper is getting all the attention?

How DARE you!!! :x

I just can't have enough fun. :lol:

Probably played Black Sabbath at 78RPM...through Reaper, of course.

Sorry to go OT...(I'm for science btw)

Does anyone use Reaper on a Mac?
If so, is it stable?

I want to try it, but as the Mac version is still in beta, I didn't want to waste the effort if it's going to be crashing. I have only heard one other comment about it crashing with Mac osx.
Thanks for any help.
Michael :)

Logic :hihi:

The things that happen when I'm not hear to keep the Reaper discussion nice and heated about Reaper, eh?

Brent :hihi:
Reaper always did provoke powerful emotions right?

Note that those doing the imprisoning/killing/torturing were not members of the scientific community, they were members of the religious community*. One might use this fact to draw some conclusion as to the relative receptivity for change in the two communities. Or not.

(*While I agree that competition for grant money has grown rather more cutthroat in recent times, I would have thought that mobs of MIT faculty storming Princeton with torches and pitchforks would have made the news. I must have been watching 'American Idol' that night.)
Absolutely, there is much truth to this, but there are also plenty of examples of the scientific community doing the attacking and burning. The discovery that Cholera is an ingestible bacteria and not a vapour was surrounded by controversy. One eminent scientist, himself known for discovering a great many things, was convinced that Cholera was caused by noxious vapours. His scientific contemporaries suspected it was caused by something in raw sewerage (they were right of course). He even drank a glass of sewer water to prove them wrong (amazingly did not develop cholera (and here one could perhaps argue that a strong will caused a sort of placebo like effect)). He went to his grave in the belief it was a vapour causing it, even though it had already been proven to be dirty water.
There, a clear case of the scientific community burning one of its own.
It happens all the time. Perhaps not so dramatically, but even scientists have beliefs to defend.
You are advocating an objective science, which I am afraid, simply does not exist. It is a folly strongly pushed forth by militant believers in science and its values. Values which are important to the world and give us a myriad of tools, but are not in themselves yet complete enough or filled with enough wisdom to give us all the answers.
In great Art we may sometimes glimpse the merest ray of perfection, just as in great Science we may sometimes glimpse the reality of something far greater than our everyday world allows. The two perceptions of the world are not as far apart as you might think sometimes.

Everyone is entitled to a belief. We are all fervent about them.
This is exactly the type of subjective mystical experience that science cannot deal with. You see, one can explain away anything in terms of material science, but all you are doing then is foisting a reality upon someone convinced otherwise and since no scientist can step into the shoes of someone else, it cannot therefore propose to explain subjective experience like this. All it can propose is a convenient theory that sounds true. One of the perceptual toolsets of Science is to always give a great impression of the truth, an objective truth. One of the perceptual toolsets of religion is to experience gnosis through subjective experience.

Back to Reaper though...workflow *ouch*

2. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, blah blah blah
3. Blah, f***ing blah

I'm glad you're friendly, cuz you're more likely to take all this on the chin. F*** me is what you've said a load of c***...

Who am I to argue what you saw? The world is a strange place full of wonderful things. Took ket once and felt like I'd reached infinity. Doesn't mean you 'actually' saw god. :shrug:

I went to a Catholic school and hated it. Lived with a morman and couldn't believe his hypocrisies (drugs, prostitutes and a bag full of womens panties). Lived with a Muslim who was scared of any women who loved him. (Poor guy missed out an all the fun imo). Both my mum and god parents are jews, but lets not get started on the hypocrisy that is Isreal.

Religion is one of the few things that riles me up haha :lol: (Precisely because it is so full of shit and causes so many problems the world over)

However, I think we would all still be bashing each other even if we didn't have religion. Take football fans as an example of this. Rivalry is a part of human nature, which leads us to the important subject...

Reaper, for the record, ROX!!! :D :!:

Love the speed it loads up, love the fact it has feature requests actually implemented (no devs mentioned Prop*****head :hihi:), love the fact it is skinnable, love the fact I can run it off my usb pendrive, love the fact it uses one track to do everything and anything at once, love the price etc etc...

No dongles, no expensive hardware like a whole bloody mac for logic, or interfaces for pro tools etc... Reaper is just a pure lean music makin machine! :D

LBN wrote: When I moved from a P4 to a Core 2 Quad, I installed Tracktion 3 as it was my main DAW but I also installed Reaper because I like the rate of development on it and Tracktion appears to be abandoned. I loaded up small identical projects in both with some very heavy plug-ins and it became quickly apparent that Tracktion 3 was way inefficient compared to Reaper even with all the optimizations. Although I will always love Tracktion's interface and the way it works for me, Reaper appeals to the tweaker in me and I've got it set up perfectly for my workflow. I settled on Limeflavour's Origin Snow skin. I installed Bevosss' freeze macros. Now I have all the functionality of Tracktion and then some with a pretty interface.
I agree wholeheartedly that T3 is a resource drain, especially compared to Reaper, and yes, Reaper is seriously a tweaker's delight. I'll be checking out skin, also have to load up Xenakios' (sp?) extensions. Took me a while to realize what those even were ;) but now I know and will definitely be looking into them.

On the quad, though, I feel like I can finally use T3 comfortably even with the heavy plugs. Much more workable now! I've also really come to appreciate the changes between T2 and T3. Performance aside, T3 hits it out of the park. I still think people who don't use Tracktion should consider the download of T2 to use as a mastering app with the built-in Final Mix.

Cheers,

wow!!!this is completely retarded.this thread has it all!!people who actually use REAPER?For real?and then a bunch of religous zealotry on top of that!!This is better than a soap opera!! for the reaper fan boys out there...not every daw has the same audio processing power as they claim.If you would simply AB the raw track recordings in reaper with any other daw worth its salt you would see why us big boys wouldnt touch reaper or traktion with a ten foot pole!!kia makes a so called luxury car with all of the amenities of lexus or a mercedes right!!?would rather have a lexus or a kia!!personally i would go with a honda same quality as a lexus yet half its price with proven longevity and resale value,gas milage etc.end of metaphor ..hopefully you get the point...if not here it is spelled out!

reaper equals kia cheap korean made crap
protools equals lexus very nice with all the expensive repairs and maintenance that comes with
studio one or cubase 5 equals honda same quality if not better than lexus more horsepower than both,and half the cost of a proprietary protools set up!!

anyways let the war begin!!!HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
