I'm thinkin' Reaper doesn't stand a chance this time out. :hihi:

Didn't Kimbo lose his ass when confronted with a real cage fighter?

All hype and no beef

Draw what analogies you will

Yeah, he got beat by a fat boy in the "Jr. UFC".

Big hat, no cattle... :hihi:

Well, he's impressive for a completely untrained fighter. He's been slowly getting more training, but he's a street fighter. When there are rules involved and he's fighting guys with years of formal MMA training, he's the underdog. Get the guy on a street fight? He'll kick their butt every time. That's what he's famous for.

So I still think he wins. Just because.

Ah... never mind. No point in turning this into a MMA thread. I'm a huge fan and I can easily get carried away.

Go Kimbo! :hihi:

I suspect many people don't really know how dangerous those high level MMA guys actually are. It's hard to really tell sometimes because they only fight each other. They don't really let anyone in the ring with them... untrained guys like Kimbo would get really seriously hurt... in or out of the cage.

Imagine a top MMA fighter doing what Kimbo did in the street. Someone would probably die.
Kimbo has been in the ring and even is a part of this season of The Ultimate Fighter which is the UFC reality show with up and coming fighters. He didn't do so bad and has been one of the hardest working fighters there, learning a ton from top coaches.

So who knows. If you mix the street viciousness with some good training, I imagine he will be pretty good. He's also actually a very humble and loyal guy apparently, though his pictures make him seem a bit more unrefined.

Anyways, he lost his fight on the show, but I believe Dana White(UFC president) will be giving him another chance as he was impressed with the progress.

So one day we may just see how he stands up. Hey, the current heavyweight champion is a former WWE fighter, and he has torn up his opponents. So anything can happen.

LOL, me too. I'm a big fan.

But hey, it IS an MMA thread since Kimbo obviously isn't coming into Reaper's game. Reaper is going to have to go to his yard.

Soooooooo, go Kimbo!

I edited my post above before I saw your reply....

It's a TV reality show for guys who want to get into the UFC. They're not that good competitively speaking. Like the boxers on Sugar Ray's boxing show... they're club fighters at best.

Including Kimbo. None of those guys has a chance to make a real mark in the UFC.

Trust me... from a UFC fan who's been on board from day one when there were no rules. When guys were biting each other and drawing blood. He will not succeed there - *if* - he gets there, which I seriously doubt. If he does get there he won't be fighting against anyone of note.

These guys are superior athletes. He cannot handle them as a group. Most of them have little respect for his skills.

Hehe, I've been watching since UFC 1!!!

I don't know if he will succeed. I just think that with some training, he could at least contend. He HAS the standup.

Ultimate Fighter typically has up and coming fighters along with veterans looking for another chance or for a first venture into the UFC. The fighters often come from other organizations, and many of the fighters have went on to become champions. Heck, look at Rashad Evans who is a coach this season. He became a champion after being on the show. And he isn't the only one.

So I absolutely think Kimbo could at LEAST be competitive with some good full time training for a few months. Get him into a real camp with individual attention. He has power and striking. He needs a ground game BIG TIME.

Time will tell. I'm rooting for the guy. He's definitely not there yet, but people get better. So who knows.

LOL, I bet the OP didn't expect the thread to become more about Kimbo than about Reaper. See, Kimbo has even beat Reaper in this thread. Kimbo FTW!!!

I think if someone puts him in the cage with a really legit contender in his weight class he'll get his embarrassed and maybe seriously hurt.

Again, the guys on the show with him now aren't really that good and he's already lost at least one fight. I stopped watching so I don't know what happened after that... but fans of the show are generally calling it the weakest overall talent pool ever for that series.

I like Kimbo... but he's truly insane if he thinks he has any hope for the UFC heavyweight title against the guys who fight for it.

Insane I say...

He may make a few bucks while the UFC pimps his name a little but he won't last.
