Cubase simply hurts my brain during any attempt at getting things done with a decent workflow
Reaper is the Honda of the DAWs btw... It does the job nicely and at a price we can all afford (not just 'professionals' with 'professional recording needs')
Seven pages of win imo

We tend to view the fundamental argument as being between Science and Religion, but it's not that at all. The argument is really between Religion and Secularism.Note that those doing the imprisoning/killing/torturing were not members of the scientific community, they were members of the religious community.
Einstein was religious, and lots of other scientists were and are. They can still apply the scientific method and achieve practical results. We rely every day upon marvels created by some openly religious folks.
What people mistakenly look upon as Science (in opposition to Religion) is actually Secularism. There are many flavors of Secularism just as there are flavors of Religion. Both are 'religions' in the sense of adherents to both are propelled inwardly by grandiose visions and promises of future utopia. Whether that vision is pictured here on earth or somewhere we can't currently see doesn't really matter. What is key is 'The Vision' and the (often times) relentless pursuit of it.
There are good and bad sides of both. Religions have had their holy wars and inquisitions, while the Secularists have had their Mao's and Stalin's.
I'm an atheist who is very 'religion friendly', particularly the Christian religion. The Christian religion has grown and refined itself in many ways that others, in my opinion, have not.
Given the historical record, I would much rather live (as an atheist) in a Christian nation than a *devoutly* Secularist nation.
The way I see it, putting your vision of Utopia in 'heaven' rather than here on earth is much safer for people who don't share your vision. The Christian will hear me talk, shake his head and say, "Well, I hope you find Jesus!" We can then shake hands and get on with our lives, together or apart. He and his kids can pray in my schools all they want. I know where they stand and I trust them to be civil.
The Secularist, on the other hand, who has his vision of Utopia pictured here on earth, can only see me (at the extremes) as an enemy if I refuse to accept or in any way (in his mind) impede his quest to fulfill his vision.
These are the Mao/Stalin people (worst case) and the body count in these cases, once the 'flashpoint' is reached, rises exponentially.
I have no problem with the Christians, and none with the Freethinkers. It's the glassy-eyed Secularists chanting their protests in unison who *believe* they are thinking scientifically that scare me.

I'd like to hear what makes you a "big boy", I'm thinking it's not your maturity so are you saying you're a big time producer? So I'm calling you on it, if you're going to talk big prove it. I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong, but I can't imagine why the big boys would stoop as low as to talk to the likes of us who have no clue.dawmaster wrote:wow!!!this is completely retarded.this thread has it all!!people who actually use REAPER?For real?and then a bunch of religous zealotry on top of that!!This is better than a soap opera!! for the reaper fan boys out there...not every daw has the same audio processing power as they claim. If you would simply AB the raw track recordings in reaper with any other daw worth its salt you would see why us big boys wouldnt touch reaper or traktion with a ten foot pole!!kia makes a so called luxury car with all of the amenities of lexus or a mercedes right!!?would rather have a lexus or a kia!!personally i would go with a honda same quality as a lexus yet half its price with proven longevity and resale value, gas milage etc.end of metaphor ..hopefully you get the point...if not here it is spelled out!
reaper equals kia cheap korean made crap
protools equals lexus very nice with all the expensive repairs and maintenance that comes with
studio one or cubase 5 equals honda same quality if not better than lexus more horsepower than both, and half the cost of a proprietary protools set up!!
anyways let the war begin!!!HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
BTW I have never even tried reaper myself, but I'm not sure what benefit there would be for me if I was to bash it and other things as you have done. Really why? Can't you find a reasonable and respectful way to make your point, respectfulness is quite rewarding in it's own right.

I wouldn't waste your time pipeline. This isn't his first time in the past 24 hours where he spoke nonsense like this. I already wasted the time, and I felt just as bored at the end.Pipelineaudio wrote:Evidence?dawmaster wrote:.not every daw has the same audio processing power as they claim. If you would simply AB the raw track recordings in reaper with any other daw worth its salt you would see why us big boys wouldnt touch reaper or traktion with a ten foot pole!

Of course, you remember yesterday when he said that he OWNS and has mastered every single host out there? And when he said that he has ALL the top of the line instruments and effects. And when he said that those who were criticizing Studio One were only mad because they couldn't afford these top-shelf instruments that would make Studio One better.Hink wrote:I'd like to hear what makes you a "big boy", I'm thinking it's not your maturity so are you saying you're a big time producer? ok guys when you are done finger banging your egos i think you would agree i made a valid point..that not all code is equal as per sound processing.granted its all ones and zero's but there is alot behihnd the coding in audio processing and there are newer albeit more cpu intensive processes' that software like protools, cubase 5 and yes even studio one pro are now utilizing within the realm of 64 bit data calculation.if you are like me you might remember the first daws with their 16 bit awesomeness...look how far we have come.look lets not get personal. i know i embellish for dramatic effect but cmon...it makes for good reading along with our technical jargon!!koolkeys wrote:Of course, you remember yesterday when he said that he OWNS and has mastered every single host out there?
