Thanks for the response.

unfortunately it's the only software that's been omitted from the Yamaha download site.

The PLG150an software works with the AN200, but apparently it doesn't cover all the features.
eh?

Is there some issue with "shipping in Canada"???

I may be selling both my DX-200 and AN-200 before year-end.

Both are "mint".

lots of ebay sellers won't ship here, keep me posted on the AN :)

Thanks for replying dan_s.

If the program size isn't too big would you be willing to email it, or upload it somewhere?
eh?

If anyone has the AN200 standalone editor and is willing to share it i'd be most grateful.

I don't have the AN200 editor, but note that AN1xEdit is good and works with it (switch to PLG150AN mode) so you may want to try it too. Basically it can do everything except program patterns for the AN200 (see this post). Here is the newer v1.1, it completely disappeared from the net by now so I uploaded it.

Thanks shy - much appreciated. I'll give the AN1xEdit a go, I'm sure it'll do the job. The original AN200 editor is proving to be most elusive.

There's an official editor for the PLG150-AN board, which is essetially the AN-200. ANexpert editor or something. The orignl editor was a plugin for other software (XG-works if I remember).

Anyway, the new and better editor can be downloaded from here.

I picked-up both the AN-200 and DX-200 recently from the same seller. Great soundng boards, the AN can churn out some gorgeous grit. I'm definitely keeping the DX as a sound module, but I'm willing to part with the AN for the same I paid. PM if interested.

I also got the Roland SH-32 at the same time (lucky bastard I know) and that REALLY tickles my sonic pallette - that filter is swee-eet. So the AN doesn't get a look-in, unfortunately.

Thanks for the info - that'll explain why i couldn't find a stand alone app anywhere

Well, i've decided to make my own editor with Synthmaker. A VSTi dashboard editor would be convienient for automating the AN200 knob movements etc...

stimresp: like AN1xEdit (which I think is better), it doesn't edit AN200 patterns. There is an AN200 Editor but it's not available online anywhere.

So there is a standalone AN200 editor?

A couple of helpfull people shared the content of the original AN200 CDRom and it only contained XGworks and the AN200 plugin. I've seen some posts regarding Yamaha groove boxes on the 'Sound On Sound' forum, i'll see if anyone there can provide info. I'm guessing Yamaha had a licensing problem with the AN200 software.

Hmm yeah, "The Windows version opens as a plugin inside VXWorks. You do not need to use any other aspect of VxWorks to use the editor". Are you not able to run the host program?

ah, ok i get it. :)

Shy, the copy of XGworks on the original AN200 CD requires an update to work with WinXP SP1. Fortunately i got hold of the update many years ago for my SW1000XG so it's all working.

I'm currently recording the Sysex output of the AN200 plugin for use in my own editor.

eh? You sure about that? I rememeber AN expert editior working here for AN200 on Vista. MM, will have to try again, but I certainly don't remember having any any problems...
