Sure, the sounds are big. But are you using any of the Memory Management features like I described above yet? Makes a huge difference.

I have a mac pro with 6gb of memory and it taxes my cpu alot. I have no problem with omnisphere and using 10 or so tracks with it,but not with trilian. No where near.

That doesn't sound right. Memory usage with the big multis...sure, but CPU usage should actually be far less.

Let us know the specifics if this is not the case for you.

Eric,

just ordered it yesterday at dv24. A few questions are on my mind. I am on a "Maczilla" 8core Nehalem with 32 Gig Ram, but still running OSX 5.8, not Snowleo.

Once you guys make a 64 bit version available, will I be able to take adavantage of my RAM? I need to explain this a little more I guess. I use Cubase 4 as a host, and of course this is limitted to adress RAM, but, since a few days now I bought VEPro, the Vienna Ensemble Pro, and I must say, since Stylus 1.9 is supporting 64bit, it is a dream come true when I load it in the 64bit VePro server.

Now whenever Omnisphere and Trilian are coming out as 64bit for Mac, I should be able to theoretically adresss more than 4 Gig from within VEPro. At the same time, I still could load additional instances in Cubase, particulary for those where automation is needed.

This I find the biggest hurdle in VEPro, other than Volume, Pan and Send from the VePro Mixer, nothing of the instruments can be automised yet, other than that, VEPro in conjunction with RMX is fantastic.

On a side note, if I were to live on an Island and could only take four plugins with me, It would be the Spectrasonics Trio and Kontakt. Fantastic stuff Eric, thanks a lot for bringing such excellence to market for very reasonable prices!

OSX 10.5 Leopard is fine.

Yes, Omnisphere and Trilian 64-bit native versions are in the works for Mac OSX. We are currently testing the waters with RMX 1.9 in the new world of Mac 64 bit native. Glad to hear it's working so well.

On the Windows side, Trilian is 64 bit native now with Omnisphere 64 bit very soon.

Windows Free Zone here. (after 25 years PC) I changed to Mac last year, only question for me was, why did I wait so long?

I am sure that Herb or Dietz over at Vienna are happy to provide you with a VEPro version, You might wanna check that out, it is really very good. Paul hinted that they try to work out full automatisation of plugins, but this will take a while.

What keyboard are you playing in the Trilian Overview demo?

P.P.S. The Omnisphere search Function does not work when loaded in VEPro, may be you folks can look into it.

Ordered Trilian and Omni (Or Tromnisphere)

a few days ago as upgrades from the Spectrasonic Tech shop. They should both arrive by Thursday next week, all this talk of CPU and ram has me curious as to the perfomance on my system. It should hopefully run very well here. W7/i7/12Gb/x64

Been watching all of the Omni and Trilian videos and the chaos envelopes are simply crazy. Setting up detailed and complex envelopes is almost childs play. I am not sure what is the bigger achievement...the excellent sounds on offer with Omni and Tril or the superb interface design that allows very complex software to be accessed and used in a very easy way.

Simply fantastic UI design. The way you can change sounds is so easy yet the results can be so far from the original patch. It will be just so easy to create my own patches. Although I plan to see how far I get with the patches available first of course.

I'm really looking forward to using RMX, Omni and Trilian together ...not sure if anyone should even be allowed to combine the three

you should have no problems with your machine!!!

i am running vista 64/i7(quadcore)/920/8 GB with stylus rmx, omnisphere, trilian, kontakt (Colossus, Garritan Personal Orchestra, Garritan Jazz & Big Band, Acoustik Piano, Electrik Piano,VI-ONE),ableton live without one problem...

actually i have been trying to blow my system up since i purchased it...

have not come close at all. the highest cpu usages using ableton live is 45%.

Yes,it was with the big patches,700 mb and above.I tried the memory management and it helped alot.

The smaller patches,I have no problem with it. I forgot to mention that.

I should be good to go then. Seems sad to not use Trilogy or Atmos anymore but I can deal with the separation in this case...

and my copy of RMX will have some very interesting company.

@Dr. Wu...I agree with Eric that is a lovely tune. A lighter side of Trilian but sorry to say...just for the fun of it I would run that through some Chaos envelopes

I'm getting high CPU load with Trillian - when i make a similar patch in Omnishpere it uses far less CPU. The difference is more pronounced when using the filters.

The CPU load is also erratic E.g. When i hold down a sustained note the CPU load is very high for the first few seconds then drops down.

It's strange.
