When combined with all the Fretless Basses from Bass Legends, there are really a lot of different fretless sounds now in Trilian. (definitely the widest variety of Fretless basses in one place).

So we thought for the initial release of Trilian that it was much more important to focus on areas that Trilogy didn't cover as thoroughly....like Rock Basses, Studio Bass, Vintage Basses, Chapman Stick, a highly detailed new Acoustic Upright, etc.

But no worries....the enhanced Fretless stuff in Trilian sounds and plays really great and there's lots of possibilities for new basses in the future now that we finally have our Bass stuff on our own STEAM platform.

Trilian will be around for a long, long time and will grow and expand in all sorts of cool ways. :-)

There is a new fretless bass (with all that detailed sampling)? or there are only the Trilogy ones recycled? (I really hope the answer is yes, because for me the Trilogy fretless where so tastefull and musical that it would be very good to push that taste to the next detail level).
They definitely are pushed to the next level in Trilian. You can tell this from the end of the electric video.

We also plan to do many more new ultra-detailed basses too. This is just the beginning after all. :-)
Thanks for the answer Eric. Sounds interesting that the good Trilogy fretless basses are improved, would be possible to elaborate a bit about what have been done to improve those?
They have more samples (more velocity layers), some type of legato or what?

additionally I would like to ask as a guitar midi player:

Its possible to use the legato with midi guitar?. I have tried other "scripted" libraries where I cant access the legato playing because its programmed to play with keyboard (the legato samples can only be triggered playing a note when the previous key its still down, something that ist impossible to achieve in the same string of a guitar). So the question is if the legato behaviour can be tweaked to be able to trigger it from a midi guitar.

It would be possible to play each bass string with each midi guitar string?

Also a omni mono mode would be amazing without the need to create a multi with six instances which would heat a lot of resources.

I know the midi guitar players are not the vast majority in the world :P , but if that is not implemented, do you have plans to support those midi guitar performance needs from Trilian (and Omnisphere of course)?.

Thanks in advance.

edit: after posting I see your answer about the fretless, so I think its already answered, thanks.

C'mon Eric, you said the same about Omnisphere and nothing new yet, not new patches, not new Soundsources just some bugs updates, Customers needs more Sounds all the time, give us more for the price we paid! and for the promises you said long time ago 'bout Omni (I wish it will not happen the same to Omni like happened to Korg Oasys... :x :x :x

omnisphere has at least doubled in patches since its inception....plus I imagine they were concentrating on Trilian for at least the past year or more.

Not sure if this can work or not on MIDI Guitar....it's a little tricky, since string triggering is always a "fresh note".

Yes.

Yes, we have this already. Just turn Live Mode on and use one part. Good solution for MIDI Guitarists.

Huh? Not sure what you are talking about.

Omnisphere 1.0 was released only one year ago and it came with 800 patches.

Since then, we have added another 3200 patches for FREE. There are now over 4000 high quality patches.

Please point me to all the other companies that have done this for free in the first year of their instrument's release. :-)

Tomorrow we release Omnisphere version 1.1, with 64-bit native support on Windows, and the support for Omnisphere library expansion via full integration with Trilian's library (hundreds of new Soundsources and Patches that can be used in Omnisphere), support for Round Robin, Legato mode, multichannel soundsources and lots of new Memory Management features, Lite Version support for faster loading and previewing, etc.

Once again....for FREE.

So there's no need at all for the negativity....geez.

All our instruments will be growing in many ways for many years and our updates are extremely generous by any standards.

In case anyone is interested, here is another musical demonstration using Trilian for all musical parts. Stylus RMX has been added so there are some drums and percussion...thus making this track a little more interesting than the last one. We'll call this "Beta 1" since it's a work in progress.

It should be noted that this is a synth bass demo. ;)

I am a trillian owner and omni owner. I love the release of the additional patches for Omni and I am really looking to more synth bass patches in the future for Trillian.

Keep up the great customer support spectrasonics,

I have a question for Eric or any other Trilian users - are there any Yamaha FM synth patches in Trilian? I will be purchasing the product regardless, but it would be great news to hear that there are patches of the classic "Lately" or "Solid Bass" sounds.

It's not as necessary to have DX-7 samples in the library, because the STEAM engine can do FM in realtime. The synths we focused on sampling are very difficult to achieve with software synthesis, which is why there are mostly lots of great analog synths in the core library.

However, having realtime FM and Harmonia oscillators in the STEAM engine allows the creation of many classic FM-type Bass patches already,
