Listening and writing (yes I can do that) Actually I really like it. Of course the sounds are great (tuesday is the day for me!) But I like the tune too

Haven to say I'm really looking forward to the bass synth stuff as it just seems to sound more organic and lively than anything else, but then I'm not a guru when it comes to synth bass (er, a...make any bass

)

It's not as necessary to have DX-7 samples in the library, because the STEAM engine can do FM in realtime. The synths we focused on sampling are very difficult to achieve with software synthesis, which is why there are mostly lots of great analog synths in the core library.

Yes thats the problem, its always a fresh note, but if it would be possible to tweak the time window of the "script condition" only a few ms it would be possible to trigger the legato, so my question is if that is possible in Trilian.

Yes, we have this already. Just turn Live Mode on and use one part. Good solution for MIDI Guitarists.

Sorry if this already have been discussed - but isn't there a whole bunch of sounds missing from the Synth category? The only Synths presets I can find is in the Synth DEMO folder. None of the old Trilogy presets are available. But the soundsources are - but it's quite a difference between a soundsource and a preset. Or am I thinking/doing anything wrong now?

I dont have Trilian infront of me yet so I might not be much help but Eric had this to say to a similar question a few days ago...

"Synth "DEMO BANK" is normal for the disc install.

The new Trilian Synth Patch library will be released as a free update this coming week with hundreds of brand new patches. (They are coming out great btw.....just finishing the final tweaks right now)

The recreations of the original Trilogy synth patches will be released next month.

Of course, all 333 synth soundsources are already there with the install....just look in the Soundsource Browser instead of the Patch Browser.

I think you may be referring to this write up on their site...

"LEGACY
As Spectrasonics' next-generation bass instrument, Trilian includes enhanced, remastered versions of Trilogy's core library - taking it to a new level of sound and expression."

I am guessing some last minute tweaks and optimisations (which I definitely welcome) caused a slight delay. It looks like having everything ready to go on the 26th of OCT was very likely the orginal plan.

Judging by Erics comment it looks like the soundsources though are already there but no enhanced Trilogy patches yet. Eric of course can confirm or correct my assumption, but that is the way I read his comment about Trilogy patches.

Yep - that's the one. Well, to tell the truth - I am disappointed as synth sounds are my main interest. But if there is a bunch of sounds coming out this(?) week I'm sure I guess I'll survive

Nobody will die while waiting for the original library to appear, and neither will I. But I think Spectrasonics should clarify the situation on their site.

Trilian arrived this morning, and I should be ecstatic. However, my DAW died on me a few weeks ago, and I am still waiting for the replacement, so I have to wait even more before I can fiddle with the strings.

Making it time based would not solve the issue I don't believe. It works by holding a note while triggering the next within a certain note range. Making it time based would mess up fast staccato playing.

We'll look into it though.

The Live Mode solution is Omni mode. You can get the "Omni mono" mode style triggering with using it multitimbrally.

Yes.

The free synth library patch update will be available by the end of this week with hundreds of brand new synth patches.

It's accurate, since "core library" refers to the soundsources. The situation with the patches has been up to date on the FAQs page on the site since the launch.

I think you'll also find much less need for the original Trilogy patches when you hear the new Trilian ones this week...they are coming out great!

Spectrasonics Trilian...(Omnisphere v.1.1 now out with native x64 support!)
