:tu: - quick tip : the plan B presets were mostly design with the M/S stereo flip on, which you'll need to do manually, as this button doesn't get stored with the fxp / fxb ... I think its less important for the highest 32 presets in plan B as these are tempo oriented delays rather than reverbs (for the most part)

Aha, thanks for the tip!

atm yes, that's right, although they do respond to midi (details in manual)
.... because there are so many controls (60+) I've had to cheat and use an alternative patch system to the stock SynthEdit one, otherwise it would take far too long to load - the downside is that this kills automation parameter support on these controls .... no real way around it as its a compromise at best .... individual controls could be maybe put back to the original automatable system at the expense of added load-time, but in the mean time would be best to use midi instead ...
thanks for the info :) . Although I wouldn't mind a relatively longer boot time, I'll look into the manual for the midi control and see if that is workable in Renoise.

Cheers

cool - its something I'm open to changing, but that'll have to be after voting has finished, as I for one would consider it an added feature - improved automation response etc etc - don't want to break any rules noe ;)

something not in the manual ...

For all enhancer modes apart from "clean", distortion is applied in varying degrees using a 2-stage process - the first stage is stereo and comes before the crossover and the second stage (part of the enhancer) operates only on the side-channel. Both stages use the same settings from the enhancer screen - click "ENHANCER" vertical text.

so ?

with the enhancer off, TEV still uses the first drive stage, so if you've got a setting that doesn't use the enhancer (it does happen) you still get 5 options for distortion in the 6 enhancer modes - mode 1 being clean ;)

distortion, noise and balance controls ...

Image
control heirachy, where per patch is for each patch, per enhancer mode means there are 6 settings chosen by enhancer mode, and global is, erm, global ...

input balance : per patch
room 1 : per patch
room 2 : per patch
output balance : per patch
distortion : per enhancer mode
threshhold : per enhancer mode
boost (small blue square between distortion & threshhold) : global
follow noise : global (noise amplitude follows output amplitude - scaled)
bleed : global (static volume noise input)
colour (small blue square between noise & bleed) : global
output gain : per patch

in future version of TEV I'll maybe make noise per enhancer mode and boost and colour buttons per patch ... perhaps ... after DC'09 :P

right, a bit more tevving ...

1.0.1.91 - (WL TEST) - here

same as 1.0.1.9 except exported with "mono use okay" flag set

this may or may not work with wavelab. it may cause problems with other hosts, I don't know ... give it a try ... I have had problems using other plugins exported this way (crashing cubase) in the past ... I think if used as an insert ? not sure ... either way, I appreciate your feedback :D ...

oh, and remember to "uninstall" the previous version if you're gonna test this one

Just a quick-note ...

I'm not going to be around here much for the next couple of weeks. Other work commitments have taken over, and I'm currently engineering a wide-format installation for my sound-artist wife.

if you need to contact me direct, please use :

thanks to all who have helped with TEV variously - it wouldn't be what it is without your input.

and ... good luck to all the DC'09 developers - its simply great to get so many new toys to play with, even if I've yet to use many of them "in anger"

big respect to you all - see you soon

Hi Daz,

I tried 1.0.1.91 in both WL6 and Cubase 5. Neither hosts liked this version. WL6 loaded it OK but when the song was played for the first time, the "serious error" message appeared. The plugin appeared to work, but it would not load presets. When quiting WL6, the program froze and I had to kill it with the task manager. In Cubase 5, the plugin would load, but it would not work and when I tried to visualize it, the GUI was the default Cubase one with no controls apparent. When closing the test project, Cubase choked and gave a serious error warning.

The version that works the best for Cubase 5 on my set-up is 1.0.1.8 and I have rolled back to that version. It does not work in WL6 but c'est la vie and I am quite happy to be able to at least use it in Cubase 5.

By the way, I really like TEV for both subtle and wild effects and greatly appreciate the work that you have put into it.

thanks for the field-report fred ...

... at this stage I just gotta hold my hands up and say "oh well" ...

... there's nothing more I can do with WL compat short of going back to every single module and tinkering and testing ... given that there's probably 25+ (from memory) that I made & loads more from other devs : I'd expect it to be some error on my part, but it could be someone else's error, and therefore beyond my control ... there's no guarantee that doing this would yield anything useful and it could take a *lot* of work ... I'll maybe link to 1.0.1.8 in the first of this thread ... later ...

either way - glad you like it fred ... hope it brings you much joy - do let me know if there's anything you make using TEV I can hear somewhere / someday ... :D and once again ... thankyou
