alt/rightclick audio part on a track in the sequencer, move away the 2nd part and the 1st half still plays out.:?

I think I noticed the same thing when audio files are grouped/glued to an audio part. If that's the case just open the audio part and cut the file from within the editor.

Post

thanks,yes,that worked.:)
strange if i right-click the audio part, there is nothing in the 'process' column.
my other audio parts do.:?

I have come across this bug too. My fix was to bounce the bit I wanted to a new track and use that instead.

This is a bug that could do with some looking into by Jorgen though. If you can isolate the just the bits that are causing the bug and create a small session (ZIP it all up) for Jorgen (email to support@energy-xt.com).

I will try to do this too if I can replicate the problem, but it has been a while since I last saw it. It does exist though so needs fixing!

Another bug I noticed last week was associated with freezing tracks. It was actually some work from a student of mine who had frozen a track and then deleted the MIDI parts because it was no longer wanted, but the frozen .wav still played even though the track contained "nothing". I mention it because it maybe related - i.e. XT2 holding a wav somewhere in a cache ready for playback but not always getting rid of it if the user cuts & edits the audio part or deletes a MIDI part on a frozen track??

The other parts are actually audio files, right?
The bad thing is that when you have audio files glued to a new audio part you'd expect to have the processing tools when you open the audio part's editor and right click an audio file, but no, nothing happens there either.

Post

hmm,yeah i think i did cut it,then glue it.
where as the other audio files haven't been glued.

Post

That explains why you don't have any processing options.

cool.

i've sent jorgen a report.

opening the audio part and cutting the file from within the editor, worked but doesn't always play back correct, sometimes it still plays all the file...

I had this problem today with non-beta 2.5.2, but put a copy of massiva.key in the program's folder and renamed it to xt.lck, and that worked.

I just put my massiva.key in the XT dir and it registered.

I think I actually made it work that that way on purpose for audio clips with multiple events. Like if you have a snare drum at the end of the audio clip and it gets cut of at the part end.

But I guess the right way would be to always cut? Any objections, or should I just fix?

cheers
