Will seem like an odd post, but after all that to get trilian installed and such, I'm fried....

a. In authing trilian, I noticed that there was no more account of mine anywhere to be found. I wrote "info" about this so I'm being redundant in stating I'm worried about my copy of RMX being able to be used in the future. Also, I don't know if "info" is the contact for support or not, but I'll be darned if I could find anything else.

b. I realize I am not familiar with the product yet, but ram usage is pretty high. I think someone mentioned 700ish for the full acoustic but I'm getting 1.2gb with the studio bass. Of course I may just simply not know how to load a set properly.

I've got my work cut out for me tomorrow I'll tell ya! Allot of the sounds are nice, but it's going to be a struggle for me to get the most out of this.

No worries. Did you watch the User Account video?

This is a brand new system for all our users that's a big improvement over the older system we had. But the first step is to create your account and bring it up to date with your existing instruments.

Note that the Memory listed in the patch name is not the RAM usage, it's the space used on the hard drive. The samples stream, so the RAM usage is far lower.

Don't miss the memory management features...in particular the Lite Version button in the Browser.

You can read all about these features in the Reference Guide (Utility Menu)

Yes....or you can use the momentary keyswitches like in the video.

The only thing I didn't like on Trilogy was that the gliss was always *loud*. This is going to be great - because I guess we can get a gliss at any velocity (by using the right "keyswitch" key). I'm busy rebuilding after my HD crapped out - but will be able to try this soon

As spectrum said - check the system settings for the amount of RAM being used. Also there is a setting (I'm not at my music PC right now) where you can set how many samples you want to "pre load" or something like that. Anyway - I set this to 25000 and it seems OK. ymmv but playing with this setting can make it use less RAM (and I guess more streaming)

That's right....and the glisses/slides are all sampled at mulitple velocities, so it's now very easy to get subtle and soft transitions.

Hi Eric, great work on the new Omni64, I test it yesterday on Cubase5.1 in 64 and it was fun. I will make the switch from my 32Host to the 64 next year and I am very happy about all Spectrasonics compatibility in 64. Now I'm just hoping UAD will follow soon as all my major librairy plugs are now native in 64. I also hope that some other VST devs will do the same. I'm really avoiding the VST bridge like the pleague, Cubase really miss on that, big time.

I also saw all the new site stuff when I registered Trillian, but also when I've installed the new Omni update, I had to re-register it. I hope that it was a normal procedure.

Great! Kudos goes directly to our great software team.

I ordered the update yesterday and I'm a little worried about the installation times. I don't want to have to take a day off to get it done.

How long did it take for others?

As I remember it didn't take that long. Maybe an hour? Goes fast as I do something else on my surfing computer in the meantime

Depends on the speed of your DVD Drive. Some of the older ones are really slow and the more recent drives are incredibly fast. So it varies greatly.

No way! I have a sata drive and could get something like superior drummer to install in 30min?? This took nearly 4 HOURS! So, I'm at a lose there. Major bummer too.

I'm hoping my installations take a similar timeframe but its not that big a deal for me as I will be doing other things while both packages install anyway(Trill & Omnisphere should be here tomorrow ).

You must have a very recent DVD drive or run SSD's? If not then I should have a fast install as well as I do not have SSD's but do have a recent (few months) old DVD drive.

On my old machine my DVD drive was really weird. Installation CDs/DVDs had never been a problem but ripping CDs into iTunes all of a sudden became that slow that I couldn't do it any longer with that drive (a regular CD needed > 30 mins). I had never updated the original drivers/software explicitly or implicitly via Windows XP update (didn't use the silent update setting). Of course, I had put many hours to nail that down (iTunes import settings, installing older versions of iTunes, looking for software updates etc.) but failed completely.

So I finally had to use the DVD drive of my notebook ever since.

I just got my electronic shipment information from UPS.
