Newb Here. Electronic House of Sorts?

Just to show how new I am to electronic music, heres a thread I wrote earlier today in 'Getting Started' forum. http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 93#3848893

Like I mentioned, I am not a DJ. I have no turntables or mixers. I just love to write music with ableton live and my midi keyboard.

Heres my first stab at electronic house music. This track moves me, and I'd LOVE to hear your opinions and suggestions.

you have a knack for house music. At least, that is what it sounds like to me, although you should consider, I listened on Lap Top SpeaKerz...............


Anyways, you productions are new, and if I had one major critique. Its the, "farting kick drums," at the beginning of the track.

Anyways, the rest of the track was well composed, if not sounding like a pro-production, and the sounds you choose worked well together, although, might have benefited from a little tweaking, but don't quote me on that..... why?

Just posted another track. In another thread: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=269205 Its a very old one, from before I really learned the basics of ableton.

Its the, "farting kick drums," at the beginning of the track.

The fart noise may actually sound different with real speakers or headphones. Check it out when you get a chance. Its actually a really really low note that kinda reminded me of a busted bass string.

the opening chord stabs that run through the track could benefit from some filter modulation to add some texture.
the (what sounds like 8 bit) lead that comes in at 1.31 is quite harsh, whilst ok in small doses, if this where a dance release playing in a club, ears would suffer
some extra drum or perc fills would be good

I think the goal here was to make it somewhat of an 80's power metalish lead guitar, but I know exactly what you are saying. Can you recommend a good instrument to accomplish this? I also plan to add some variation to this lead so its not so repetitive.

This is currently my weak point. I tend to focus more on melody over drums. I usually start off by getting a good beat going. Once I get the melody going, I tend to lose motivation on building new drum variations, so I keep what I have and add minor tweaks... Now that its been pointed out, I'll try my hardest to add some drum beat variations to my tracks.
