A bit of an unnecessary stab at a fellow sound designer Lotuzia, don't you think?

The Nexus Demos are made without any further processing, too. That's what the devs said at refx forums and since i have 10+ expansions, i can say: yeah, that's true.
Finally!

ralphjarzombek wrote:Unfortunately I do not have much time to tweak instruments or play with trying to make a mix work by adding external effects, so I am looking for a softsynth that comes with great presets "out of the box" and the tracks sit in the mix well with each other. If the presets already have effects added to them which helps them sit well in the mix , that's OK; I just don't have the time to spend tweaking things.
The problem is that most presets are meant to showcase the synth and not play nicely with others or other instruments. You're going to have to tame these presets before they'll be mix friendly.
Which is why I've largely lost interest in softsynths.
They have made using them too much trouble.

Its your own and only personal interpretation that its a "bashing".

We do things in our own way, and I wouldn't call this (beeing different) a "bashing" .....

Now ... If YOU think that Vengeance audio demos deserve your interpretation, and that they should be bashed for beeing very produced, maybe you could inform your 'fellow" Manuel from your Pov ?

Now as I'm used to your sarcastic comments every possible time I make a post I thank you for reading me so closely. I guess its an honor for me

And by the way we also have some nice presets for Gladiator on our site and .... they do sit well in a mix. You can consult our site for that my dear Bastiaan

Its a real distress to see that the Tone 2 forum will move away soon. I guess I'll have less often the intense pleasure to read your comments. 8)

And btw they're are a lot of Sound Designers whose works I like, respect and appreciate . And among all these talented people only a few are friends. But ..... Its not enough to be a Sound Designer, even talented, to become a "fellow". There should be more than this .....

I'd probably go for Cakewalk's Dimension Pro. Excellent patches, sits well in a mix and has a really wide rage of usable sounds. All the "bread and butter" is there. It's cousin Rapture is awesome to. Z3ta is great, but not what I'd call an "all rounder" though.

As other's mentioned Zebra 2 is fantastic and seems to do nice FM style sounds just as well as smooth analog style sounds and Howard's soundbanks are excellent.

I don't really look at instruments that way though. I see them as having distinct personalities (or not) So for instance, I'll go to Sawer when I want an aggressive sounding bass or lead, but then combine it with CS80v for a warm pad and maybe get something chimey from Octopus. That's the fun for me.

Nexus2 without doubt.
Plenty of high quality pre-sets ready to go.
Some of the recommendations made so far will not be what you asked for..IMO
Try the demos and see.

My belief is that any synth with multiple filters or a built-in EQ section can make presets that sit well in a mix. Creative use of Band-Reject filters and using both LP and HP in series will carve out a ready-made spot for your sound nicely.

My pesonal choices:

SynthMaster 2.0 (4 filters, 2 EQ's)
Fabfilter Twin 2
Sylenth1
Predator (use 1 or more FX Filters in the effects section).
Albino 3
Zebra 2.5 (GOOD built-in EQ)
Scanned Synth Pro 2.0 (2 filters, BR/Notch as a selectable type and also Hi/Lo Shelving)
VST PRESETS ---> http://xenossoundworks.com
Bazille, NI Massive, Z3ta, PPG Wave, TAL-J8, RePro, Diva, Spire and more

Allot of "demo synth selling " preset sounds hog the spectrum and the stereo field. Some synths are beloved as "go to" lead and others for pads or basses . If you want something thats mellow and smooth and silky , additive seems to do that well and a FM instrument will have great subset of smoother sounds to it ; but can also produce face melting cut too..Of course , Virtual analogs like minimonsta are good at powerfull ripping sounds to...sorry , there is'nt a nice little organizing principle that can be applied here :?

Predator is supposed to have a good glue fitting in a mix.
You'll have to find time to do some demos!!!

I agree that a genre-based reply would be most helpful... It all depends on what sound is preferred...

Any Rompler or all-round instrument would be ok I think (like Hypersonic 2 and the like).

Please tell what type of music you want to produce, and if the budget doesnt matter or what-not. Then it will be much easier to give advice, otherwise we are all shooting in the dark here...

I want a synth that creates the presets, and mixes the music of any genre for me, with the press of a button.
Can you help me :?:

Seriously, I'd say Zebra because I like it, and it has...yadda yadda yadda.

Maybe what he/she might want to look into though, is
SugarBytes, Consequence or even Thesys.

I didn't say you were 'bashing', I called it an unnecessary stab, quite a difference there my dear fellow ;)

Glad I can be there for you. I replied twice to you this year by the way, not exactly what I would call 'reading me so closely'. Both times you promoted your own products and pat yourself on the back while putting a competing product down, but I guess that's doing things your way? ...oops there goes my sarcasm again, sorry.
And by the way we also have some nice presets for Gladiator on our site and .... they do sit well in a mix. You can consult our site for that my dear Bastiaan
Absolutely, I can recommend everyone to take a look at Lotuzia's products, qualitative products for a good price.

No need for distress, we're just moving and although 3rd party promotional posts are not allowed at the moment, you're still more then welcome to join and check my sarcastic ramblings every now and then ;)
Your LtZ "fellow"
;)

My apologies to the OP for partly derailing the thread, Lotuzia, if you want we could take this to PM, although I'm sure most things has been said and discussed before already.
