I tried and tried and tried to do it this way, but after all my searching of forums for answers, the answer seemed to be NO.

I just wanted my VST folder to have things categorized by FOLDERS (Reverb, EQ, Additive Synths, Compressors, Delays, etc...), Install the VST's in their category and then have it show up like you've done when I opened it up in FL Studio. There are other ways to organize, but it didn't appeal to me at all. I get by without it though, just have to keep things fine tuned in my memory "Hmm... Delays, Delays... ah.. ok I'll grab the Fabfilter Timeless."

If someone has a better answer than I've found, please chime in.

Have you tried the Plug-in picker? Press ctrl and F8 to access it.

Load all your plugins into a project, save the project bones, organize resulting .fst files into folders then access from the browser.

Thanks man. I've never used the Plug-in Picker but I will from now on. You can also edit the directories of where you want your Plugin to sit in.

Choosing & Going through plugins won't be a chore now

Yeah, I've tried that, didn't like it, I have too many plugins and it's more hassle than it's worth to me...

WOW! I think this is actually gonna work for me. I've been using FL Studio since version 3.7 I believe, and this will be the first time I'll be able to organize how I want.

I owe you lunch or something... Do you have CD I can buy or anything?

I'll be trying out this method also but I have a question:

Does anyone know how to remove folders out of the browser? i.e. misc, collected etc so I can keep the browser as neat as possible

Alternatively you can rename your plugs with a prefix kinda thing like-
synth Sytrus
mastering Maximus
or developer as the category

Most of the folders are in the FL-Studio directory in Program Files/Image-Line. You can delete them and/or edit the corresponding .nfo file for the folder and add this line:

Visible=False

and it won't show them. You can reduce the displayed folders to only the current project if you want

This problem and the Browser limits are the major slow downs with fl studio.
