I agree, calling names is not the way to solve anything. However: most kvr members are humans like any other, and when something is touched that is close to your heart, you get emotional quickly and irrationally. e.g. I never fight (usually not even with words), but when anyone touches my daughter, ....

I know I shouldn't go into this again, but come on... so you read a blurb on a developer web site without bothering to read the actual license (it's GPL, for christ's sake... pun intended), then feel the urge to go to the developer's own support forum to poke fun at it (which would have been remotely fun and/or valid IF the actual software wasn't GPLed, but it is, so almost nobody got the alleged "joke" because it was not that funny, really, just misinformed... I don't know if you get that part already), and then you feel offended because someone posted an intelligent and witty response and called you "fucko" WITH a friggin emoticon attached to that word? And even then you talk about respect lost? Mmmm...

I just loove to defend myself! I was never offended, was that written anywhere? I was called a name, and if he was joking aboiut then thats fine. I have a sense oif humour, and am MORE than glad to take back my comment to his comment. All he has to say is it was a joke, and I most huimbly bow down, and say, "Good one." Im sure he let you in on it, as you defend him. say it, and Ill say mine, and then we can put this to rest.. Im tired... and I didnt care if it was GPL'd, that was the basis of the joke!!!!!! Jesus, guys really grow some funny bones. stop being so damns erious. I become serious only when Im attacked, and i feel its warranted. Really you have all the right to defend yourself as you see fit, there's no need for you to take back any comments whatsoever, I'm not defending totc because he can surely defend himself (as he did in page 6, including an explanation on the "wacko" incident... you read that, right?), we can definitely put this to rest, and there's news at 11. I just found it funny that this thread actually ended up being funny

Sorry for posting to a very old topic, but some things are relevant here:

1) ZynAddSubFX was under GNU GPL license from day 1.

2) Only changing to its license was making, by request, under version "2 or any later version" (before was "only version 2 only"). If there are some files which states "only version 2" in the newsest git version, it means that I forgot to change it.

3) Of course, anyone could use it for any purpose, so by anyone: no matter if you was christian, atheist, agnostic, muslim, etc. The request (now deleted) from the homepage was only a request, not an obligation (like I would ask "Please do not listen too loud music made by zynaddsubfx"

). The request was because, then, I was Christian and under that worldview I belived that is the right thing to do.

4) Anything changes, worldviews changes, people changes; and my worldview changed: now I am an atheist. I studied a lot and many things made me to change my worldview. I apologise for trying to force christianity by using hell fear mongering. Religion can make someone to do things that later feel embarrassing.

An interesting thing is that the concept of the hell itself was the first thing that made to doubt christianity. And after this other things happened which helped me to change my worldview. Some was described online, while other not.

5) Even if I am quite busy, I struggle to continue to develop zynaddsubfx. For example, I implemented unison to ADsynth (with many features) and other things. Thanks to other developers, too, zynaddsubfx developing goes on
