This one really sounds like the kind of piece that could be performed on a Chapman Stick too.

Hi,

I just have installed Trilian from the discs (btw, roughly 1 hour over here) and was about to install the updates.

However, I noticed three "issues" when checking the initial installation.

1. I found a Trilian folder under the root of my system drive (C:\Trilian) having two subfolders 'Settings Library' and 'Soundsources', both of which are essentially empty in all their folders and subfolders). Is this folder meant to be installed there?

2. The 64-bit vst-plugin dll has been installed though I had unticked that option in the installation wizzard.

3. A real issue: I can't find any entry in the windows system control section for software, which means no deinstallation option via the OS. And I also cannot find any Link to Trilian and an deinstallation link in the Spectrasonics folder of the start menu's all programs section.

I'm on windows 7 Pro x64, haven't Trilian started yet and did the installation from a standard windows user account (having had the admins password requested upon starting setup.exe).

I'm a bit confused now, so could it be that my setup got someway screwed?
I'm about to restore my yesterdays system drive image and start over again...

Can somebody confirm these observations?

Number 1 are folders within the Steam Data directory (or it is on my systems at least)which is on an external disk in my system.

I can confirm the 2nd one.

In both my PC install (windoze XP) and my Laptop (vista) the 64bit version was installed even though I did not ask for it.

I also do not have any un-install option, but seeing as I like it so much I doubt I would want to un-install anyway.

Maybe somebody else will tip up with some more enlightenment about the configuration.

If it's the same than with Omnisphere, you must point your installers to your "Steam" folder (typically in the "D" drive, you had the option of choosing its location during the first installation).

Indeed, I have the same folder structure in my STEAM directory which I actually have set to a different drive at the end of the setup routine of DVD 1. At least this means, I could delete them savely but I still don't get why they appeared also on my home drive.

Ok, could be a valid hint that this is a bug in the installer.

Btw, why is the RTAS version automatically, that is always installed and not made an optional install as well?

I also do not plan to uninstall it in the long run - haven't done it with Trilogy either. However, right now I missed that 'option' very much.

So the only way to to do a new clean install was to restore my system drive image first. Lucky me, I had one. I consider support of the standard OS uninstall mechanisms a basic, no a must requirement these days. And I don't think that works as designed.
