Is anyone looking to buy an ez-ag? I have posts earlier in this thread, bought mine not long after this thread started...used it a few times, put it back in the box and basically forgot about it.
Manual, power cord, mint...
I'll go $165 + 10 bucks shipping.
PM if interested

Question- has anyone repaired the ez-ag's mute bar? Mine is working on and off.
It's working now, I took a small flathead screwdriver and lifted up the one end a little. Hell, if it works, that's good enough. I'm just using it in my bedroom.

So I got the guitar and its fun but couldn't get it to work with my mac until I found SubtleSoft's midipipe software. Here's the link: http://web.mac.com/nicowald/SubtleSoft/MidiPipe.html (http://web.mac.com/nicowald/SubtleSoft/MidiPipe.html)There is a pipe already set in the software called MIDI-Guitar-helper.mipi. From this you can play with the settings to get what you want out of it. I have a quick tutorial on my blog to get you started since there's no info with the software or on the site. http://tinyurl.com/ykx4shz (http://tinyurl.com/ykx4shz)
I can now work in Reason and Garage Band with ease. Like other reviewers have said this isn't exactly like playing a guitar but since I am not a piano or keyboard player, its really a great addition and its so inexpensive!

Not a midi expert, but I had to set each of the strings to one channel to get all of them to "register" with the synth sound. For some reason when you plug in it seems to play one sound, and that will be whatever string you hit first.kvrlog wrote:Hi, I'm new to midi and I'm a guitar player. I bought two midi controllers: one is a regular midi keyboard and the other the yamaha ez-ag. I'm using ni bandstand. The keyboard plays just fine but I have some issues with the guitar. I'm connected straight to a fast track pro with a midi cable going into ni banstand. when I play two notes at the same time only one will ring the other is cut off. Specially if I play fast. However when I play the internals sounds on the yamaha as stand alone, meaning thru the guitar speaker, then its fine. If this a limitation of this device or am I doing something wrong?

Hi,
I have a question about the EZ EG guitar.
I keep seeing two different kind of EZ-EG guitar on the web, and don't understand why they look so different without anyone on any forum mentioning this. Had there been two differents models or something like this ? I'm not talking about the EZ-AG, but about two distinct EZ-EG looks.
Check this :
1st model :
http://www.cesweb.org/shared_files/inno ... to2872.jpg
2nd model :
http://static.stickam.jp/media/image/co ... 686916.jpg
The differences lies in the volume/standby button (looks better on the 2nd), the whammy bar (looks better on the 1st) and the effects buttons on the neck close to the body (there are more buttons on the 1st model).
Are the features different as well ? (since more buttons on 1st model)
Any clarification would be welcome.
Thanks

Wow, looks like my post is screwed up by the admin bot because I'm a new member. Sorry for that, I hope it's still readable for other members.

Mine is like the second picture. I wasn't aware of the slightly different model! Maybe it was a prototype image of a unit that never reached production?

Regardless of the forum software, the images didn't have the right tags to show as images. Here they are, fixed for your easy viewing pleasure:

I recently bought an EZ-EG but have been having trouble with getting it to the PC. I want it so that i can use it in FL Studio to control VSTs. I'm using the Yamaha EZ-Guitar Environment and using MIDI Yoke. I can see MIDI Yoke and my USB to MIDI cable in FL Studio MIDI settings and have followed all instructions but it's not picking up anything. My USB to MIDI Cable is not the provided Yamaha one but im using one i bought from my local shop. I'm not an expert in this area but would anyone be able to help me out?

You only need Midiyoke if you're running a standalone script, and need to re-route the midi back into FL studio. If you want to run it direct, you'd select your midi to usb cable's driver in FL.
The ez-ag works on 6 midi channels, 1 thru 6, so that might be a problem. That's one reason the scripts exist, also to filter out low velocity fretted-but-not-picked notes.
Any midi to usb cable will work, the guitar can't tell the difference.

Thanks for the reply, I'm getting an error message from FL Studio which says "The specified device is already in use, wait until it is free, and then try again"
I think i've moved a step up, but still isn't working as yet. Any Solutions?
-Thanks

Sounds like an attempt to use the midi port in 2 places. I don't use fl, or know if you're re-routing the original midi input thru something then thru midiyoke or not.
Maybe try the Image Line forum, would probably be the quickest answer, or here in the hosts forum.

Hi
I am wondering, since the neck of both EZ AG and EZ EG look similar, if with some electronic they could be interchanged in order to have a EZ AG with 12 lighted frets ? (instead of 6)

Been playing around with the EZ-EG for a week now and still no joy yet. I've noticed that when i change the Presets left and right on the EZ Guitar environment App i get a MIDI Signal on FL Studio but still no sounds? Anyone know the solution?

Have you tried with any soft other than FL ? Try to download a demo version from another soft, such a Reason for instance, and let us know if you have the same problem. Also, which midi signal do you recieve when changing preset, is it a Program Change ? On which midi channel ?
