I would have kept the ESX and effect pedals. Those are fun things to play with.

throwing away anything at all is not for me - I get attached. Hence my highly subjective advice, buy whatever new gear you want and stash away the old stuff in a dark place where you can't see it (short of monetary problems, but they'd have to be pretty urgent indeed!)

The problems storage space for me not monetary I live in a 3 bedroom hous one room for me one for my daughter and one as study/studio and Ive got my 1200's,cdjs,djm800 speakers desk piano all in that room dosn't leave much room for the bulky old gear and all the leads and I find clutter really clouds and cramps my creativity

I'm about the least qualified to make suggestions here - I've sold about £5000 worth of gear over the years that I regret - but if it's all paid for, worth very little, and potentially useful - maybe stick it in the loft or closet, just in case you ever get that old itch for your hardware?

Anyway, if space is a concern, a laptop's the way to go. With a Virus TI and a macbook, you have everything you need; anything else is icing on a cake.
