I'm looking for a VSTi that is similar to Thor in features yet better in terms of sound quality. I'm writing all kinds of music, but mostly DnB (with some good reese bass and some good sub bass) and I'm not worried about Equalization, Compression, etc. I have that taken care of. c:

Any suggestions?

I have an FM7, FM8, Massive, Sylenth1 and I'm still willing to purchase others (thinking about purchasing Zebra but not sure)

...with your three synths you already have a stellar combo and I think you can already do everything with them what you could do with Thor. If you have any questions about using them (esp. DnB sounds in Massive or FM8) feel free to contact me...

why not upgrading to Sylenth2...? :smack: :hihi:

Looks like you've got lots of bases covered with those synths you've mentioned. And not wanting to flame bait, but Thor's sound quality is excellent... I often use it in place of Sylenth as it stands up easily.

If you like the sound of your NI stuff, get Reaktor. I'd say that's a step up from Thor, but as others have said, Thor is great. I use a ton of Reason, check it out:

Tone2's Gladiator2. I just hooked it up to Kore and started mapping the knobs...it's just...wild. The sonic quality and range of that synth is amazing, and giving it hands-on control made me finally lose my gearlust for a Virus TI. I've had Komplete 5 / Omnisphere for some time now but this one finally did it.

Firebird is great too for those times where you just don't feel like slogging through ten billion parameters. Also sounds great, and just works.

Oh, and try the randomize buttons on both of them...great starting point for making your own patches when you don't want to do too much thinking or experimenting :D

I'd check out the D-cam synths from fxpansion. Very nice.

The Tone 2 Gladiator 2 is the HOTTEST thing I've ever heard. Thank you for showing it to me (It beats the FM7 and FM8 sound I love) and I'm definately saving up my money to get this. This beast is off the hook!
