Hmm, another Cinematique Instruments blank email just came through. I wonder what news I missed this time. The body of the email is empty and I don't see any indication of an error. Has anyone else gotten something similar?

Nope, came in fine. Have you checked if your mail program blocks images? Because there is no text in this mail.

Same as that! I did click on the blank area where the Picture was supposed to be and it whisked me away to the Website, where I was greeted with a beautiful Harp DEMO playing.

That's the header. My mail doesn't appear as the destination, instead, the sender's address again.

The headers being the same might mean your address is in a Bcc: instead. That way everyone receiving the email doesn't see all the other recipients' addresses as well. Preserves your privacy.

I might have this confused, been a while since I wrote email code.

That's pretty standard fare for bulk mail... You don't want to expose the email addresses of all your subscribers, so you send it to your own address and put all the actual recipients in the BCC field, where they're safely anonymous

I wonder if there is some setting that some of us have set differently in our email. I tried clicking around in the white space of the message but there didn't seem to be anything clickable. I'll go to the site though to check out the harp!

It's really just a matter of the e-mail message containing nothing but an IMG tag referencing an image hosted by Cinematique Instruments. Which webmail service or e-mail client are you using?

The following tip won't work in this instance, since apparently the message is made of one graphic, which seems to be hidden due to some setting (or server error), but it could come in handy some other time:

To check for "invisible" text -- actual, typed text, that is -- try clicking in the blank area* and hitting Ctrl-A ("select all"). This will highlight all text in that part of the email/document/page/whatever. Even if the foreground and background colors are the same you'll be able to see it while it's selected.

This can also help when text isn't invisible but hard to read due to unfortunate choices of foreground and background colors, "busy" graphical backgrounds, etc.

* But if you're viewing a possibly dodgy document, keep an eye on the mouse pointer; if it turns into the cursor shape meaning "I'm over a clickable item" don't click exactly there! Might be a hidden link that you would be better off not clicking. Move a little until the mouse pointer changes back to its normal shape.

Try adding their email address to your contact list, check to make sure images aren't blocked, and check your email's help files if none of that helps.
