This really depends on your personal level.

If your focus is not on mixing (if you truly are a beginner or simply composer), than you do not need to invest into logic studio. get yourself a copy of express, compose something, check out logic, make your (DAW) decision.

If your plan is to keep on composing + learn mixing in detail
then... investing into logic studio might be the better way.

i liked the feel of cubase compared to logic
i don't think theres a lot of difference's in audio editing its just cubase seems more intuitive you can normalize and do a lot more in arrange window
maybe i find it easier to use because that's what i used when i first started

Cubase has some useful features, like beeing able to process 32bit float files...

Well, Cubase is in fact a nice DAW, but it has several problems on Macs.
1. Doesn't support AU plugins.
2. GUI is not Cocoa, so it's slow and unresponsive.
3. Cubase buffer sizes compared to Logic, Live, Reaper, etc, in the very same system are at least twice as big.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but these problems are pretty much deal-breakers for me.
