very hard to hear the bass in this demo?!

Yes, it would be great to hear some notes in isolation. No fancy stuff needed, just to hear the sound of the bass in detail, totally dry. Btw, I love the 72 Jazz Bass library I bought earlier. Good work!

Another Friday, another $10! My wife always laughs when she looks at the credit card statement. "Every Fiday, you spend another $10!"

For me, it would help if you could give us a little more info. How does it compare to the other $10 basses? Anything would help.

(but you know I'm gonna buy it any way!)

Hi Everyone!

Wow! I am really confused. I thought that what people want to hear out a demo is how well it sits in a mix. IMHO samples should not stick out or be very obvious.

So, am I understanding that you want to just hear us noodling around? I guess we could do that, but there's also a lot of people that would hear that and be scared away thinking that is what the end product will sound like, and for us seems to be a lose-lose situation.

Please share your insights with me so that we can best serve you, our customers. :)

Take care,
Steph

Stephanie - a context demo can be fine but I have to say I can't really hear the bass clearly at all in the posted demo - not to be unkind, but what I can hear sounds like a synth bass. I'm pretty sure that this isn't representative of the product at all... perhaps just a little more care in the demos and the mixing is all that's needed? And imho - nothing wrong with a quick noodling demo if it's easier to put together!

Damn... And I was about to give the store another try, too!

For $10 I already bought it. I agree that I'd like to hear a demo of the library itself. At the very least, I'd prefer to hear it in a sparse mix, something with just the bass library, drums, and light guitar work. That demo was so dense that it was hard to discern the bass. What I did hear sounded good enough for me to drop $10 on it though. :D

I love all these $10 deals going on around here lately.

I think bass demos would always be difficult, because the bass is not generally prominent in the mix. That was why I was asking for some information. Maybe some word descriptions. I thought the demo sounded good - didn't sound like synth bass to me.

I know you guys always have quality products, so I'm not questioning that at all. I was just wondering how you felt it stood out from, say, Modern 5 string bass?

Wait, I've got it! It sounds smokey!

I went ahead and bought it anyway. I know it will be great!

Hi Reverend!

I think that I understand what you're saying :)

I have a particular fondness for the Smoke Bass. It's my favorite bass. This bass, IMO is edgier, more aggressive, yet it has a nice crisp sound as opposed to the Modern 5 string which is a little more subdued IMO.

Of course, opinions like what I said, are generally subjective and open to interpretation, so I'm not really sure it my description is very helpful. :D

More demos are on the way, which I think will help the descriptions better than my words can.

Thanks again and take care!
Steph

Nice Stephanie! The demos are really useful in comparing the different libraries.

But... it came too late for me... I've already bought it!
