ReLife 1.41 VST - freeware.

Here's my new plugin that can bring back life to an overcompressed audiofile.
Due to the loudness war most songs released today are clipped to the extreme.
ReLife can bring back the "valley's and peaks" to give more air to a song.
A very important stage when your song are send for broadcasting.
This prevents the radiostation hardware to limit it even more, but without sacrafice your initial rms level!

Note: don't expect miracles, when there's distortion, it will remain also afterwards.
btw: I found this trick by coincidence while re-programming an old plugin

Update log: Recover meter added, postgain tweaked + 70% less code now (faster realtime process)! Pre Cleaning stage added, Three peak algos added.
Postgain tweaked to allow positive gain.

I mean how does your plugin bring back transients when there aren't any left?

must be some intelligent guesswork going on or responding to frequency or minute(small) volume directions maybe

Nice plug-in mate. Might I suggest offering a trim knob?

I compressed and limited a rock track to –0.3 dB in which the relife restored the dynamics. However, the end results raised the peaks to 0 dB. I put Steinberg’s Tools One ahead the your plug-in, reduced it by 4 decibels which, brought forth these results.

Also gave them added warmth and presence imo.

This might be redundant but perhaps a post-gain would be nice??
