Just stumbled across these and thought they might be of interest. Discovery Sound have a handful of ethnic instruments for indivdual download. Only a few dollars each.
There's some Vietnamese and Japanese plucked strings, plus Greek buzouki, oud and saz. Also an accordeon (Mediterranean sounding to my ears). Perhaps there'll be more in future.

I probably should mention there's loads of loops and riffs of instruments, percussion and vocals.
Not just ethnic but plenty of other stuff from the Discovery Sound series too. Although these don't seem quite such good value for money to me.
