Can you hear any differences? How many bars until the change? I'm just curious

uhmm...i can't hear substantial differences at all...so the LA2A is here!!...however, maybe suggestion(almost certainly), but there is a very slight difference in transients treatment...maybe you switch between the two at 15 seconds from start?...but i'm on a laptop with i-pod hearphones...so...my impressions could be not very reliable...
Klipspringer,could you process an acoustic drum loop? i'm more familiar with acoustic sounds than with bass synth sounds ^_^

Hmm.. There's quite a big difference in my opinion. I'm sitting in the buss listening to the clip on an iphone. The switch happens every 4 bars and the first loop is definitely better sounding.. It is also a bit louder but the transients are punchier as well. Hope it's the antress one!!

I haven't listened to the LA2A test samples, but once I had uad-1 card and I recall it had better (punchier / snappier) attack compared to Lost Angel.
When putting it to a drum room mic bus and turning gain reduction to max, Lost Angel seems to be somehow more random and not tracking the attack as good.

bmanic wins the prize (is there a prize?). The switch happens at 4 bars. The first 4 bars are UAD's LA-2A and the subsequent 4 bars are LostAngel. And they alternate every 4 bars thereafter.

alteregoxxx, I'm sort of with you on the sound. When I first hear it, I can tell the difference, but when I play it over and over my brain adjusts and they sound sort of the same to me.

But they're not. The waveform clearly illustrates this. I would have to investigate this a little further on more program material as you suggest, but I'll have to delay that for a bit. So if someone else wants to do some tests that would be cool!

Having said that, I've been swapping out all my LA-2A instances for LostAngel for my laptop work since that doesn't have a UAD card. It's just so much more convenient and easier to use than the IK opto compressor (which confuses me).

so the uad version dills with transitions better! so if he can fix that he will get closer. as of now u cant swallow as big of a chunk as i would expect. waiting to see if he can go the extra mile
