TBH, V.I. One is a pretty sub-par sample library. There are some cool pieces in it, but overall it just doesn't stand up to most other "well-rounded" libraries.
No offense to Vir2, though.

What specifically don't you like? Where do you think it's weak? I only ask because I've never used it myself...

Also, at $100 do you think it's worth it? 100 skins doesn't buy much these days... :)

Got to disagree with you, there. I actually got this a long while back for $99 from GC and I've been pleasantly surprised by it. It has every major instrument group, including a really comprehensive synth patch set. Normally I don't like 'sampled' synths since they generally are not as expressive as actual synths, but these are very well rendered.

There are a ton of basses which I've begun to use as my go-to bass library, and there are ample percussion and loop files which are also extremely useful.

Are there some clunkers? Sure, but as an overall library, it is IMHO, very comprehensive and useful. Oh, and to my ear, sounds great as well.

+1 for Dimension Pro

I don't get where the sounds are weak . . . I get great, loud & righteous patches from mine
expert only on what it feels like to be me

+1 for dimension pro too. there is a very nice library, with some fantastic sounds ( strings for exemple). the presets are in my opinion the best I know.

Have you looked at PRIZM? Bizarre offer in the marketplace right now (but not for long) - very comprehensive, great sounds and the full Wusik Engine. You can't lose with this stuff - Kirk Hunter strings and all. :o

But be quick.

vs. 500$ for komplete 6? it seems a shame to spend just under 400$ for just kontakt when you can get SO MUCH more for 120$ more. plus the battery 3 library is in there.

i'd say personally, for drum samples at least, the battery 3 library (battery 3 is 180-200$) is very very good and extensive.
all he had upstairs was a crude light...

Well, I agree... but the OP needs to draw the line somewhere. :)
