This sounds very nice indeed...

The combo of "deep multisamples" and processed one-shots sounds like a great package to me, but of course I am very interested in the sound a sample pack like this would reproduce. I basically am your target market group for this product and am not ashamed to admit it. :hihi:

I won't dare to suggest a price, because getting this recorded/produced right is never an easy task and I'm sure you'll price things fairly (as one can deduce from the Zebra preset package - which is very nice!).

Comob is good yes.

My guess is your customers would mostly be in the hip hop genre, maybe a lot of them MPC users. AFAIK (I don't own one) memory space is an issue on MPCs and therefore a large library might not be so desireable for them so the "simpler" version would come in handy.

In any case, cool idea. I'd need to actually hear it to see how it would compare to, for instance, Addictive Drums with the right settings.

Perhaps it would be cool to also include live MIDI patterns?

Any more opinions, suggestions or feedback on this? Looks like we may be going through with it.

Maybe just one suggestion:

As someone stated earlier.. most of the customer base would be using MPCs or samplers. I, having been doing Hip-hop for years, but I use alot of synths. I think maybe a combination of multisamples (maybe in just a couple different formats like sfz, sf2 & maybe FPC for fl studio if that could keep the price low) and maybe one shot kits. Although just having the waves by themselves in a fz could be sufficient as well

I would buy it, and Groove Bias too. My suggestion: Battery3 format and midi files for both libraries.

I like the suggestion about sf2 format and the option for oneshots. I would add one more thing....that the samples be 24 bit...if possible. As you guys know that a lot of the new soul/boom bap drums are multi-layered to get that fuller stereo sound. There is definitely a science to layering drums and them sounding good.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

24-bit: Absolutely! We'd be recording at 24/96 and editing in that format - not sure what the final delivery would be in terms of samplerate, but definitely 24 bit depth.

SF2 is a bit of a rough format. It's hard to find a modern editor for it and translating TO it doesn't always work so well. If there's enough demand, we'd do it, though. I personally have experience with Kontakt and Reason, plus we could do Halion quite easily. If we started with Battery that would be even better since that ports to Kontakt well and I could build from there.

Regardless of the main format we'd definitely have oneshots available, probably extra-produced so they are really just drag-and-drop. However the main kit would be very deeply sampled!

SF2 wont be as good but for technical reasons I'd need Halion format.

If all else fails why not just include single hits?

YES YES YES

Been asking sample producers for this for YEARS.

Hell, even a number of rimshots and sidesticks would do it :)
If it sounds good it is good.

I'm 95% sure we're going through with this project, just going over contractual stuff. Assuming we do proceed, the original engineer, console, tape, and kit will all be involved. :-)
