Good evening everyone!

I have been tinkering with the Melodyne demo and I have to say that it is fantastic! I was wondering though, how well does Cubase Vari-Audio match up against the Melodyne editor? I might be tempted to go with Cubase because I am looking to upgrade my DAW and I have an SL3 license, so the upgrade will only be $249 - the same price as Melodyne. If they are equal, I'll probably get the Cubase upgrade, but as there is no demo I wanted opinions from people that own the software.

What do you think :?:

I found these helpful:

(Cubase 5 Melodyne)

Would be nice if they had a DEMO!!!

have you looked into Antares Auto-Tune? It wasn't listed in your Poll..

They have demos:

I tried auto-tune, but found it hard to use. As where Melodyne is pretty easy to use and you get results quick.

For me, getting results fast is key. I'm probably like 80% of people making music. We write and record in off hours, when our families are busy with something else or late at night on days off. I found the autotune interface confusing. I like the melodyne interface. It is very obvious what everything does and is not hard to get some great results fast. I suppose the only reason that I haven't bought a license is that 1) I've had a couple of drinks and don't make decisions while drunk and 2) $250 for pitch correction + a DAW is very tempting.
