First try an Organ Emulation like Linplug Organ 3 or NI B4. Or Gsi Vb3udit999 wrote:So I dont know much about synths or synth sounds.. im a guitarist... but i love medeski's choice of sounds...any suggestions as to what VSTs..free or non-free I can use to get his signature sound ?
Then try an analog Vsti like Korg Legacy Cell Analog Edition or AAS Ultra Analog. ( You can complete the factory instrument libraries with 3rd party ones btw
Then find a suitable ( Not too clean ) Fender Rhodes Sample library like Scarbee's one ( You'll need a sampler like Kontakt or Halion to play these ones )
I like the CD they made with Scofield on guitar
Hope it helps,

I use the B4 from Native Instruments, and run it through amp effects, like the Guitar Rig by the same company or the good *free* ones from AcmeBarGig. Although the tweakability of the B4 plugin should get you what you need in most cases.
I -think- this one has been discontinued by NI, so maybe you could pick it up used somewhere.
