Yes, in fact, the motherload of drums is coming in December in a big way. Not only do we have Drum Masters 2 (now Multitrack only) but we have EpiK DrumS - A Ken Scott Collection, 7 Drummer Packs (with stereo kits and grooves), a NEW title designed for those that just want kits and on that front a special taste of that title plus an exclusive custom Ocean Way Drums sound set that will work with the Infinite Player (and hybrid OWD/DM kit patches as a bonus) that is going to be a part of a group buy that will hit on Monday. That one is going to be incredible both in features and price. Plus it qualifies for discounted upgrades to Drum Masters 2 and Ocean Way Drums.
By the way, for those of you that own Drum Masters kits now the upgrade to the Drum Masters 2 patches are FREE for you. So no worries, no regrets about your purchase.

The extra content for Drum Masters 2 (the flagship title) is going to be a set of 9 multitrack snares from the JB and NDV sessions along with some cool hybrid kits between the Gretsch, Premier, Tama, Sonor and Yamaha kits that were recorded in LA and Miami. It also includes the full Classic Rock Drum Sessions title in the package (nice!) for that Bonzo, Ringo and other classic drum kits and groove sound. Any Drum Masters owners that didn't have that will be able to get those sounds for a good upgrade price along with the 9 snares.
So basically, a free patch update and an optional upgrade price of around $99 for the new samples and hybrid kit patches if you want them (and you will! They're awesome). If you DO already own the Classic Drum Sessions title then it's onlya $50 upgrade to get those 9 Multitrack Snares and Hybrid kits.
More info coming. There's also a Platinum Hard Drive Edition with EVERYTHING... it's around a grand street price. That might be ready until the end of January but we'll do discounted upgrades for anyone that wants to get any other title to test drive it and then go all the way later. It's quite a collection!
That's all what i wanted to hear !
Great, great news Squids. And the prices are very affordable. Thank you very much.
So... we'll have new OWD sound sets, right ? Good. But we'll have updates for Silver/Gold/Plat kits too ? The new features on these kits will be awesome, don't you think guys ? Please, tell us about it.
All the Best !

Yay! Sounds great, Dave!
I do have an additional suggestion, however: how about individual downloads of Platinum-exclusive multitrack grooves? That'd be an awesome a-la-carte route to complete a Gold edition!
Maybe a Gold-to-Platinum MT Groove upgrade bundle?
These grooves were indeed available individually at some point (dead links are all over the esoundz site), so it might be a good time to bring them back?

Squids,
This all sounds great for us "drum junkies" out here, but.......sadly no mention of the Neil Peart BFD2 kit that I have been waiting a few years for (maybe this is the wrong thread for it anyways...). The last I knew, you were "just about signed off on it" or something like that.
What's the deal? Go ahead and finish your turkey first!
Thanks,
Mike

They're still available but only from www.downloadablesoundz.com (which can be linked to your esoundz account to use the same login if you like... you can do that in the back end of your esoundz account with a simple check box).paveloso wrote:Yay! Sounds great, Dave!

We're going to be moving a lot of the a la carte stuff over to downloadablesoundz so it's less confusing on eSoundz. I think people type in "Drum Masters" and see so many products pop up they go running scared!

His is more complicated as you might imagine. One thing that makes some of these other drummers easier to do is that their record deal contracts have run out or they're session musicians who play on all kinds of records and are independent. Neil is signed to multiple labels around the world so... more red tape. But, I'm friends with Rush's A&R guy who is super cool and he's making it all happen with the crossing of T's and dotting of i's. The product itself is almost done for BOTH BFD2 and Infinite Player. Chances are we'll have it for NAMM.mike1k wrote:Squids,

Before that in the cue was always Ken Scott's collection EPIK DRUMS and that one is a BEAST and a half. I don't think we can go all out like that again. It was the luxury of luxuries for drum sampling and cost us a fortune. Totally honored to do it but it was extremely time consuming and the size of the whole thing is outrageous... but worth every gigabyte! We're going to sell it standard on a hard drive! A dream come true for a drum junkie... the pre-orders come with some extras like tracksheets and posters that are autographed as well.

Oh! OK, that's great. I think people type in "Drum Masters" and see so many products pop up they go running scared! So on eSoundz you'll have more of the flagship products like the ones I mentioned above and on DLZ you'll have the custom cherry pick a la carte stuff.
Edit: Wait... But there's only kits, no grooves, right?
BTW, I have just finished installing Drum Masters and have encountered a number of problems... I opened a support ticket, so Allen should get back to me soon, but I thought I'd just let you know.

question about the coupon for drum master 2 that you get with the groupbuy on currently , is this coupon for the quasi channel stereo kits(hope i got the terminalogy correct) or will it be for the full multitrack kits?

The coupons are redeemable against the Signature Drum Kits, Vols 1 or 2 or both:

But the fact that you can use the coupon TWICE ($99 off Volume 1 and $99 off Volume 2 as well if you want) means that if you were ever going to get both volumes you'd be not only getting this bundle with OWD kits and hybrid kits for free but also saving another hundred bucks... all by joining this group buy. .
Later, DarkStar wrote: Drool
I understand that the DM2 (and OWD) kits in this GB are the multi-drum Stereo kits with control of the level of each kit piece. How about the kits in the DM2 Signature Vols 1&2? Are they stereo too or will they be multi-track? Any idea when you will be able to put up pages describing those Volumes in depth?
This big reply is pasted from:Squids wrote:There's a main Drum Masters 2 Multitrack Kits & Grooves title (similar to the DM1 Gold Edition but Multitrack Only, no stereo). Then there's either a la carte multitrack or the full Drum Masters 2 Platinum HD (which comes on a really cool new "Infinite HD" hard drive which is being announced and released later this month). There's also the style session multitrack kits and grooves as well like Rhythm n Soul, Nashville Drum Sessions etc. (Classic Rock is going away because it is now included standard with Drum Masters 2 Multitrack Kits & Grooves).
For stereo kits and grooves we have individual "Drummer Packs" per artist and they come with stereo kits and grooves both for Infinite Player AND the full R.A.W. Rex, Apple Loops and Waves. Even titles like Bruford and Gadd now have kits to go along with it.
All of the above is geared toward songwriters, producers, keyboardists and e-Drummers who want to engineer/tailor their sound or they want the grooves of famous drummers even if it is to slow them down and learn, pick them apart etc. or even trigger loops from their e-kit rig which some do... and of course some e-Drummers also write and play other instruments so it is nice to do a song and have pro grooves to work with all with the ability to snap to your host's tempo etc.
HOWEVER, we also have Drum Masters series called "Signature Kits" that is geared toward e-Drummers first and then everyone else as well (keyboardists, composers, producers etc.). Easier to use, faster to load, less engineering required because a lot of that work is done for you but there IS still some individual drum mixing (not JUST stereo outs) and there IS ambient room mixing via convolution rooms from a variety of studios all around the world. This group buy and each volume in the Signature Kit series has more and more impulse responses to add to your collection and the interchangeability of rooms, expensive digital reverbs, plates, echo chambers and other ambience ideal for drums and percussion with a variety of dry and medium mix instruments (with ambient mix instruments in there as well for a different kind of depth in ambient room sound) just gets MASSIVE and incredible.
Our plan for the Signature Kit series is to release the first two volumes which each have over 20 drum kits (yes, stereo with quasi multichannel mixing of each drum like this and separate room impulses) and also a killer volume dedicated only to percussion (much of which we got Ken Scott to engineer - you can see the sessions on www.sonicreality.tv ) and then we're going to release some titles in the series dedicated just to adding KICKS or SNARES or TOMS or CYMBALS (including Danny Gottlieb's rare cymbal collection and more). The cool thing there is that there will be virtually no crossover between the samples of Volume 1 and 2 full kits and the individual kick, snare, toms and cymbal collections! So you can truly build a massive variety of flavors from different brands, vintages and sounds. The other thing that is cool about the individual kit piece collections is they are all dry and medium so they are super flexible for use with the convolution impulses too. If this group buy hits some high numbers we might give away some more of those which I think people will like and it will also give them an idea of what they can add to their collection.
So this is it! A chance to get samples of Rogers, Slingerland, Sonor, Premier, Gretsch, Ludwig, Yamaha, DW, Pearl, Tama, Ayotte and so many other great brands of drums plus one of the most diverse collections of cymbals ever put together including famous jazz cymbals and rare one off prototypes, flat rides, Paiste 2002s... it's all coming for the Infinite Player in this refreshed and updated Drum Masters Series.
The good news for V-Drummers and E-Drummers is that ALL of the above its will have V-Drum and Custom E-Drum modes to use with any drum controller you have. It's quite a collection you can build and there's still more (haven't even mentioned the special deluxe products like EpiK DrumS Ken Scott Collection, Neil Peart Drums and others coming in 2010 - all still a part of the overall Drum Masters 2 series).
Whew! You want drums? We got 'em.

ah
thanks Darstar things get confusing with such a massive product line , so if I understand correctly the coupons are for dm2 signature series 1 and 2 which are quasi stereo kits whith added convolution for room mixing
I can't wait to try out the groupbuy contents and we better hit 400 or I'll be pissed as I really like the ocean waves kit 10 med and am looking forward to all the hybrid patches.
Nobody's a nobody...
