I wanted to do something serious but ended up with a rather funny tune...

Okay, I've fallen for the advice to add vocals!

Very phat synths there URS! Wasn't really feeling the tune unfortunately but I understand you were just having some fun with bizarre sounds.

I'm imagining something like a whole bunch of animals strapped to synthesizers, and you have to pull their tails in sequence to trigger the drum hits n stuff.

Actually, that's my concern too. It somehow doesn't click with me. I like the intro and the funny bits, but can't get my head around the melody part. Maybe I try to just ditch that and keep the rest...

Sounds like a very cool electro pop song that's missing a vocal track to me...
If you keep it instrumental I would suggest going for a melody thats a little outside the norm. Japan had some very interesting melody stuff on the 'Tin Drum' album and your track transported me back to that era:))))) Really fat sounds and the beat and intro are HAPPENING... You should definitely finish it. Good luck.

Actually!

I've just started recording my own voice for the first time ever (for vocals, that is) and discovered that I can come up with a really interesting Tom Waits impersonation, but with a more rapping attitude. It paradoxically seems to fit the thing. Will see what my wife thinks when she comes back. Maybe I can get her to do some backings.

Nice track. Don't like the "Cat" sunds though. The fundamentals of the track should very good. The whole thing would probaly sound better stripped of most of the "weird" sonds on top of it.

Thank you! I had to drink some beer after each take... and then I lost my voice for an hour or so
