1) Prodigious - one of the nicest-sounding softsynths I've heard in awhile. What I like is you just press a key...and what you hear sounds wonderful! Too many softsynths have a sound that's way to harsh, way too trebly, like bad synthedit. Prodigious is smooth and creamy. The presets are just awesome. I test drove every single one.
2) Pitch Shifter - I was just playing and playing with this. I could see starting a lot of tunes with this that sound like old 80's sampler tunes, like "Nineteen". And the depth seems just bottomless.
3) TEV - when I see the words "sound mangler" I usually run for the hills - I want something that will change my sounds in a GOOD way, not sound like hen scratching. TEV is that something.
4) JBM Jagular - Another one that just sounds good when you press the keys. Also, it fills a glaring need for digital synths that can do stuff like the "L.A. Piano" preset. The presets all sound authentic, very 80's west coast studio.
5) nzElektrik - It's just diffrent, like something Tweakbench would make. The sounds have a weight to them that I like.

Awesome.. Moe - Is was really rewarding to see your positive coment about the Prodigious, i have to say that in fact this piece of Vsti was developed with the musician in mind, first and foremost. - Big thanks for your positive score about my litle boy.

TEV rocks.
There are some very elegant touches on that GUI that make TEV a real joy to use. Thank you. What a blast.

I voted for 1) Spectrobits, 2) FerricDTS, 3) FMMF, 4) TEV and when I was there I didn't know which to choose between Metatron, Masturbator (lol) and the one from Jobro so I gave my fifth vote to Barbepole Tuner as a token of appreciation for Christian's contribution in general.
I really would have liked to be able to give points to ten plugs rather than five in fact. Perhaps this could be considered for the next DC if any.

If I'm going to be self-centred and judge stuff on how useful it's going to be to me, then my picks would be:
Prodigious, Stolon, Explor3r, Spectrobits and Simplicity.
Certainly some of the other entries are just as good but I can't see their sounds finding a place in my work. Is this fair? Should we all be rising above self interest and act like professional judges (y'know, like at a dog show, you objectively pick the best dog even if you're personally fonder of another due to it's breed or something...)?

So many *great* plugins to choose from, and I'm honored that some of you are into Explor3r.
My faves so far are FerricTDS, FMMF, Harsh Digital Noise and Unicycle.
