Dear KVR members,

We are happy to announce the release of a new version of Blue Cat's Freeware Pack free audio plugins bundle. The big news is that new version introduces RTAS plugin format support for Pro Tools. It also includes several fixes and enhancements for the other formats, on both Mac and PC.

Although it should be pretty stable now, RTAS support is still in beta, so please send us feedback by email or in our support forum. You can also use this thread to report issues or tell us that it works properly on your system :).

What's new in this version:
- Factory presets are now available from the plugin menu.
- RTAS plugin format support (final beta stage - currently available with the Free Pack only)
- Mac: fixed keyboard/mouse focus issues in some hosts.
- Mac: fixed user interface crashes in some hosts, when used with particular display settings.
- Mac-AU: fixed user interface resizing issue when changing skin in some hosts (Logic).
- Mac-AU: fixed settings lost issue when doing offline rendering in some applications.

About Blue Cat's Freeware Pack:
Blue Cat's Freeware Pack is a collection of 9 audio plugins (100% free) including several popular modulation effects, multiple instances-aware gain control plugins, a spectrum analyzer and an EQ. Plugins are freely available for download as a single package or separately.

System Requirements: Windows XP or higher / Mac OS 10.5 or higher.

Enjoy!

In case you have had issues accessing our website in the past 48 hours, it's now been fixed. This was due to the huge amount of freeware downloads.

The download and web servers are now separated and we have also doubled the bandwidth, so it should be much better now. In case you find the files a bit slow to download, please be patient: it's just because there are many of you who want the same plugins at the same time :).

Thank you for your understanding.

Hey, just wanted to drop some appreciation for the freeware. I'll give it all a shot and let you know what I think, but I think it's really cool that there are so many devs these days doing great work and putting it out gratis. That you've got multi-platform support is especially impressive.

Are these the classic Blue plug-ins from digilogue?

you know, I have been using nothing but Logic plugs lately (the guy I'm working with has no other plugs so I want to make it easy for him).

anyways, the other day I opened up your plugs, and remembered how much I like them. I really like the GUIs, and the way everything is set up is great; and they sound really good. I was especially liking the Frequency Analyst, it's a pleasure to work with: great size for the window, good colors to look at for a long time, just a nice bit of kit.

Don't know that I will jump on this update since I am having no issues with the ones I have, but just wanted to say thanks.

Will these install over the old ones or do i hafta uninstall them first?

Thank you all for your feedback. Please find below some answers to your questions.

@michael2: the main changes for Logic are skin resize fix and keyboard/mouse focus enhancements. Depending on how you are used to working in Logic it may help a lot or not change the workflow that much.

@VSTadapter: the FreqAnalyst CM is a bit more powerful than the free FreqAnalyst, so I think you want to keep it (mainly easier zooming and memory slots for comparison). It will be probably updated as well some time as well... ;)

@pattonfreak1: except if you have very old versions of the plugins (older than 2 minor versions ago) the upgrade should be seamless: no need to uninstall first.

Isn't there any Pro Tooler out there? ;)

Thanks for your generosity! :hail: Now if all the free Blue Cat plugins had a skin from Limeflavour like the Stereo Chorus does.......... :hihi:

The RTAS version of our freeware pack has been updated! It's still in beta and we'll hopefuly release the final version soon. Please continue to send us feedback to make this happen faster!

What's new:
- Mac: fixed incompatibility issue with Snow Leopard (under Pro Tools pre-release 8.0.3). Random crashes when closing the plugins GUIs are now fixed.
- Mac: fixed window opacity issue (was not properly reset when loading a new Blue Cat Audio plugin with an opaque skin in the same window).
- Mac / PC: fixed plugin name that ended with duplicate (stereo) or (mono) qualifier.
- Mac / PC: fixed MIDI node naming issue (did not always correspond to exact plugin name).

It's still available for download for free on www.bluecataudio.com!

We have just released new versions of both our freeware and analysis plugins that fix several issues.

For commercial plug-ins, it also improves the demo version. We recommend you to upgrade to these new versions. You can check the release logs for details.

What's new:
- Fixes random crashes with "Multi" series user interfaces.
- Demo versions improvement: demo popup window now only appears once per session, and only when opening the user interface.
- Mac: fixes a crash with demo versions in ableton Live 8.1
- Mac: fixes multiple screens issues with free plugins.
- Win x64: fixes issues with several hosts not recognizing plug-ins or not showing the settings window properly.
- Misc other bug fixes (more details available in the release logs).

For commercial plug-ins, the upgrade is free for registered users. An email will be sent to customers in the coming days with the new download location.
