Anyway, certainly would love to know, these sound great.
You will need to install the Infinite Player. It's a (kind of) virtual dongle. It's a form of non-intrusive copy protection. A number of Kontakt sample developers are going to this.
Do you have detailed install instructions for the Infinite Player on the Receptor? Plugorama didn't show any info on compatibility for Infinite Player, or install tips. If I can get that info, I'm pretty much in - don't want to buy and then find it won't run for some arcane reason.......
It's more or less the same as installing Kontakt since the player itself IS Kontakt Player. In fact, now with 3.5 you install Kontakt Player 3.5 (the same free one you can get from NI) and then you install the Infinite Player "Library Unlock" afterwards which keys it to be able to play this content.

But we can work on getting a detailed description happening on how to do it. I'll have to get together with the Muse Research guys on that one. I think it will be a popular request with these drums coming out... makes a great "drum brain". ;)

+1. Would like to know that the instrument "headers" are the same in Kontakt as with the Infinite player, in other words all the sweet controls and scripting stuff is still available and not just "access to the samples" functionality.
I'm pretty sure that's how Kontakt 'library' products usually work.
No functionality is lost. Functionality is even enhanced using the full version of Kontakt 3.5 or 4.

Let me apologize in advance for the "newbiness" of these questions:

Can I use EZPlayer Pro along with my many midi drum loops to trigger OWD in Infinite Player or do they have to played as IMAP?

Also, I use Jamstix2 to randomise or humanise my loops. I know you can access kits from BFD and EZdrummer (you just point it at the BFD dll). Does anyone happen to know if I would be able to point Jamstix at OWD?

Thanks.

You don't have to use iMap. That's just one of the many options. You can use your EZ Player Pro midi files, Groove Monkee midi files, BFD midi files, EZ Player Pro midi files and probably Jamstix as well as long as they are all at least General Midi. Both Drum Masters and Ocean Way Drums ARE in General Midi format too. So they're compatible. Many people do that in fact.

Well that's me in! (I suspect that may not be the toughest sale you've ever had Squids).

We are all newbies at some point, so no apology necessary. 8)

I can't answer the first question but you should be able to sub-host the Infinite player (it's worked for me with Kontakt anyway)in Jamstix and then set up your own kit in Jamstix to correspond to the Infinite player's mapping. afaik The EZdrummer and BFD functionality is not much more than custom kits which Ralph was nice enough to provide with Jamstix. He has since provided kits for Steven Slate Drums so he may just do one for Ocean Way|Drum Masters if asked nicely. I discovered last night that you can use Jamstix to just send out the midi too (as opposed to sub hosting) so it might be just as easy to use the midi learn features of the Infinite player to change the notes coming from Jamstix.

After seeing Squids' comment about GM compatibility, the Jamstix thing might be even easier as its defaults are largely GM..

Thanks Chester. I confess, I throw in the newbie bit because I feel like I shouldn't be by now - but I still am. Ah well, one day when I grow up, I'll be an expert (I'm only 42 now :) ).

That all makes sense and the midi-out from Jamstix certainly seems the most straightforward. Roll on 200 so I can begin the learning curve.....

75 on the counter. It's going really good.
To be fair at the very beginng when I was considering going for DM or OWD I was so confused. But helpful people here at KVR and SR team explained patiently ins and outs so I could make up my mind.

If you Drum Masters or Ocean Way Drums tells nothing to you just ask here. It's the best place to do it and there's plenty of time to collect the funds :)

I saw the recommended hard drives are SATA. I'm on a laptop :( Am I shut out?

I couldn't find an answer to this (maybe I wasn't looking in the right places) Does the referral points system work with payments using paypal?
