Finally i've decided myself about my top fivers, all synths cause im a synth fetishist.
1 - Amphetamine - in a word, AWESOME!! if it had a more polished gui then it would be a killer, anyway it can cast all sorts of gratifiyng pads. It is a real creativity booster. I liked it to the max..
2 - Metatron - Well ill have to repeat myself saying AWESOME!! some more.
Has a great intricate personality and it can realy elevate your creativity to higher levels, i simply enjoyed to fool around with its wicked pulsations and arpegios - Addictive...
3 - MassTurbotar - What the F**k is this?? - this one hits your face so hard that nearly puts you knocked out. Have anyone tried its basses? they got some sort of kung fu punch that goes straight to your vital points - really Big and Fat - (and i only tried its first 20 or so patches..) - The GUI really rocks
4 - RaMowg - I allways enjoyed a good Minimoog emulation and this is not an exception. Floor shaking basses and penetrating leads are its strenghts. No polyphony?, nevermind the original mini doesnt have it and everibody liked it for what it can deliver - It really shines under a different light with some effects like delay and so. Simple and Effective, nearly Genuine..
5 - Explor3r - If your into some sickening basses and leads, this one fits the bill just right. Unpolished looks and sounds but really abrasive. Unclean and Musculated thats how i define it. Heavy S**t
As For the rest theres a lot more to say and really the creativity seemed to hit hard on DC09 this year.
A sidenote - Well to be honest i really, really enjoy my Prodigious but it didnt seem right to me to vote for it (nevertheless it is still my favourite afterall) but wouldnt you love your firstborn child above all? - I guess many of them would understand me. - Ok i didnt vote for it but dont be reserved about it and feel free to guive him a score - Ah remember theres a "Lighter Version" that dont waste much cpu cicles as the original. Ok now lets go for the FINAL SPRINT!!

That's a good analysis.
I'm never sure about the voting-for-your-own-plug issue... I mean, politicians vote for themselves so why not?
For what it's worth, Prodigious is #1 in my vote. It definitely has a permanent place in my folder.

Well I'm glad you liked Metatron, thak you for your vote
I had such a hard time deciding my #1 that unfortunately I waited too long to get my vote in
However these were most likely gonna be my results:
1- MassTURBOtar: I got some of the most unique sounds from this thing by using that morph knob. Will def get used in many tracks to come.
2-Prodigious: I love the sound, excellent gui and has enough unique features to make it stand out from other VAs. One of those synths that will remain in my vst folder right alongside classic keepers like Triangle 2, Iblit and TAL Elek7ro.
3-FMMF: I really like noisy rythmic synths like this. The gui work is astonishing. The evelope and FM capabilities make this a really nice instrument.
4-Circles: Great concept, and great sound! Really fun to use also.
5-Simplicity: I love quick, straight forward synths like this. Sometimes I just want to make a quick sound and get good results with minimal tweaking. Simplicity does just that.
There were more that were fighting for the top five:
JMB Jagular: Capable of so many great sounds, truly deserves some recognition.
dschlon_nzElektrik: Nice sounds coming out of here, however could not get the arp to work, maybe I missed an update somewhere.
Entrancer: Incredible! But probably wont get much use from me, still deserves some recognition.
Black Ops: The only FX I really liked this year. Nice interface. Lovely distortion. Will surley end up on some drum tracks now and again.
Oh and Synthscience, I totally understand how you feel about your own synth. I feel the same about mine. After all we designed them specifically to our standards, they do exactly what we want them to do, of course others may feel diferently.

Thank you for the kind words regarding our Explor3r. I'm really excited that how you see and hear it is exactly what we were going for; a stronger, more abrasive, synthesizer.

You certainly succeeded there.thelowerrhythm wrote:I'm really excited that how you see and hear it is exactly what we were going for; a stronger, more abrasive, synthesizer.
Had a play the other night using nothing but Prodigious and Explor3r, they actually complement each other nicely. Thanks.
