Hi everyone

We've just implemented "academic licensing" on our web site so those of you who are students/teachers/academic personnel will be able to purchase SynthMaster 2.0 for only $29 :D

Cheers!

There will be an upgrade fee for purchasing a second platform license. We havent decided on the exact amount yet though, but I can assure you that it'll be < $50

As for the ETA on the Mac version, we're hoping to do the porting in January/February timeframe so at the end of February in the worst case we'll have a stable Mac version.

hmm someone offered me a coupn then i realized with this info there is no point...

but by the time the mac version is released it seems the synth is $99

am i misreading this or are mac users being punished...

or will the coupon and intro price exist then also when the mac version is released? surely that's the fair way to do it?
Considering the amount of time I'll invest for the porting/beta testing OSX versions it'll be around $30 actually. I believe that's a fair crossgrade price for existing Windows owners.

So even if you buy the Windows version for $40 now, you'll pay $70 in total for both platforms. Which is still less than $99 :D

But since the MAC version would be new and you are trying to attract those customers as well why not run an intro price for that as well? I understand your math just looking at this from a PR point of view of potential customer loss. as a PC user I had the shot at getting it for 40 dollars... now I must pay 70 but since I am a MAC user what good does the PC version do me?

How about a trade in? send a valid PC coupon code good for a valid MAC coupon?

I know I for one won't simply purchase the windows version to then crossgrade to a mac version, simply because I'd really like to know how well it'd play with my host.

Of course, whether I would eventually purchase the Mac version when it comes out, is completely different. I'd download the demo and evaluate it on it's own merits, and then buy it if I liked it enough, intro pricing or no.

Naturally, I wouldn't stop the dev from discounting the mac version when it comes out, either ;)

This sounds sexy, though:

Layers: In SynthMaster 2.0, every voice consists of 2 layers. Each layer has its own Arpeggiator/Sequencer, 2 Oscillators, 2 Multimode filters, 4 Modulators, 4 ADSR Envelopes, 2 Multistage Envelopes, 2 LFOs, 4 KeyScalers and Distortion/LoFi/4 Band EQ effects.

Either way, we'll see how I like it once the Mac version is out and I can demo it properly. Never know, maybe it'll get the $99 I didn't spend on Absynth 5 last weekend /cry
Meh.

Hold on I did not say that!

During the beta period we'll have a discounted "beta" price just as we did with the Windows version. Will be somewhere around $39-$59, but no more :)

Deal? :D

Just saw our press release on SOS web site:

http://www.soundonsound.com/news?NewsID=12312

Apparently, the editor think that although we dont have a "catchy" name we do have a "strong" product. If SOS says that, that's a good sign :tu:

BTW, the name KV331 is not catchy but it has a very special meaning for us, just google to figure out :)
